PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS
  • "i purchased this in chardonnay shimmer for highlight and maui suntan for bronzer/contour, buy one get one half off at ulta.  my only complaint about the stick is that it makes it easy to draw it too thick onto the face and end up with too much product to blend.  i need to take care to apply the stick more from the sides than the middle. other than that i adore the chardonnay shimmer, it is a slightly warm but sheer tone that could suit just about anybody; the maui suntan is more shimmery than what i wanted it for, but it's nice to play around with for a sun-kissed glow.  aside from being shiny, these were still in place after 12 hours yesterday!" in 37 reviews
  • "this highlighter makes for a really nice glowy, dewy finish. i love using this for a more natural makeup look, or as a base highlight that i'll layer under other powder or cream highlighters. it can break up your foundation a bit or make it look a little oily, so i suggest double checking your foundation ingredients and making sure to diffuse a bit with your fingers." in 28 reviews
  • "i have this product in the shade lavender lust, because i'm obsessed with how it looks on my pale skin (gold and silver based doesn't work, obviously). there is so much product for the price point and it's nice and buildable." in 13 reviews

Review for: Lavender Lust more...
I purchased this to wear to work as I work at a laser tag place and we tend to be a bit edgier than most work environments. I thought this would be a great way to get a subtle colored highlight without making a huge change to my normal makeup routine. This is one of the best cream/stick highlighters I've ever used. I actually prefer this to the Benefit Watts Up highlighter which is double the price. The NYX one lays well on the skin and doesn't interfere with any powder products on your face. It can be very subtle or you can build it up to have really good pigment and for it to be pretty blinding. You can also use this as a base highlighter and add other products on top for a really stunning highlight. I plan on purchasing more shades now!

Review for: Pearl Pink Lace more...
I was not blown away by this product. It is not really easy to apply and is not very creamy. The “illumination” is not very noticeable and just leaves pigment on the cheek. It is an affordable price. I sometimes use it as a cream base for my powder highlighter. The issue is this applies thickly to the skin so it kind of sits on top and doesn’t look the greatest.

Review for: Pinkie Dust, Lavender Lust more...
These were an impulse buy at Target. I already have a few highlighters/illuminators but for whatever reason I keep feeling the need to add another one to my makeup stash.

I purchased both Lavender Lust and Pinkie Dust. I felt these could potentially be great alternatives to the Fenty Beauty sticks I've been lusting after.

I'm so glad I bought these instead. At only $7.99 each, these are a steal compared to FB's $25 price tag at Sephora.

Lavender Lust gives me an icy sheen while Pinkie Dust provides a soft pink glow on my fair skin. They blend out very easily with the tips of my fingers and they don't feel greasy. They glide on easily and feel powdery once applied. I find that they aren't BAM in your face sparkle and shimmer, which I also like because sometimes you have to tone it down for the office and whatnot.

I am definitely interested in trying out some of the other shades and exploring the potential. I've been thinking of other ways to use these sticks (Pinkie Dust to enhance blush; Lavender Lust as an eyeshadow base?) and I'm excited to try new things out.

Review for: Chardonnay Shimmer more...
I was looking for a natural cream or stuck highlighter and the Nyx illuminating stick was a slam dunk! The shimmer is blinding yet natural. It’s so easy to glide on after tinted moisturizer and sunscreen. I wear this on the days I want to go minimal on the makeup, but still look glowing. I recommend this over more expensive options for sure. Love it!

Highlighter sticks can be super convenient they pack and travel really well. Personally I just don't like cream highlighters, they give me the noticeable feeling of something on my face and can sometimes feel sticky. If I want a super bold highlight I will use this highlighter as abase then go over top with one of my favorite pressed highlights

Review for: Lavender Lust, Chardonnay Shimmer more...
I bought Chardonnay and Lavender Lust and love them! My friends weren't really noticing the effect I had the first couple times unless I was in direct sunlight but the amount of noticeable shimmer you want depends on how much you blend it. The Chardonnay was really close to my skin tone and therefore more subtle for me even unblended whereas the Lavender showed up much lighter against my skin. I thought they were lovely and made me feel like a fairy knowing I was sparkling. It could be considered oily but I got used to the feeling of it on my skin after just a few minutes.Getting it off proved to be a bit difficult but I guess that's the price you pay for things that stay on longer.

I just didn’t like this product. I ended up giving it away after I wore it a few times. It’s just a boring product on the face. The texture is great, and it blends easily. Just not wow’d by it. Seems like a good product for a minimalist though. I did apply it once to my lips though, and that looked cool at the very least.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I am a NYX girl by heart, and believe every lady should have one of these products! While being an amazing highlighter on your cheek bones and nose it can be used on your eyelids for a quick shimmery coat and even as a lipstick! It’s affordable, sleek, and an all around awesome product.

Review for: Lavender Lust, Maui Suntan more...
AMAZING cream product. I bought two shades, maui suntan and lavender lust, one for a cream contour and another for a highlight. These are extremely affordable and I will be going back and buying more shades. The formula is so incredibly easy to blend as both a contour and highlight. I tend to have issues blending cream highlights properly but these melt into the skin so easily without loosing pigmentation. The product lasts a very long time on my skin and is perfect paired with a powder on top. This is by far the best cream contour/highlight I have ever tried and extremely affordable. I will definitely repurchase.

I really like using these sticks. There’s a lot of shades to choose from and the pigment is good to work with. I would suggest using a stiff sponge or your fingers to apply to the skin, make sure your warm up the product really well. I wouldn’t suggest applying straight onto the skin from the stick, because it can move around your foundation.

Been wanting to try the NYX Bright Idea Illuminating Stick in the lavender shade. Anyone tried it? Is it a good highlighter? Or is there something better
