I tried the No. 7 Beautifully Matte foundation in shade cool vanilla. It can be purchased from drugstores that carry No. 7 products (such as Walgreen's and Target) ranging from $15.99 to $17.99 depending on where you go. I purchased this foundation on sale for 20% off and received a free gift with the purchase of two No. 7 products.

It is somewhat heavy feeling with a high medium, buildable to full coverage. I got high medium coverage on the first layer, full on the second. It has a smooth and flawless finish that looked a little cakey at first but didn't look dry and didn't initially sink into fine lines, pores, or wrinkles.

I applied it at 8:00 a.m. and took a selfie a little before 1:00 p.m. under the harsh fluorescent lights at work and at home in regular soft lighting at 8:00 p.m. I also included a before application photo as well as one immediately after application.

I am not 100% how I feel about this foundation. I thought the immediate look and feel was a little cakey but it did warm up to my skin and looked great for the first 4 to 5 hours. I then started noticing it sank into my fine lines and wrinkles and pores. My forehead and cheeks looked amazingly smooth and flawless but my chin, nose, and around my mouth looked cakey and it didn't look good on my blemishes.

It goes on easily even though it has a thick consistency but it did layer well. Because the weather is changing and I'm using a new stronger retinol product, my skin is getting a little dryer than usual. I prepped my skin well knowing this was a matte foundation with my hydrating skincare (toner, essence, Vitamin C Serum, anti-aging serum, facial oil, and moisturizer). I used the J.One Jelly Pack and Tarte Clean Slate primer, the more hydrating Maybelline Fit Me concealer, and set my undereye concealer and T-Zone lightly with the Laura Mercier Translucent loose setting powder. It applied well with both my semi dense Real Techniques expert face brush and my light Real Techniques expert face sponge but I prefer to apply with the brush and pat in a light 2nd layer with the sponge to get a more natural finish.

The shade range isn't terrible but it isn't great, either. The line offers 14 shades but I only saw 11 available on Target and Walgreen's. The lightest shade is calico which is very fair with a cool undertone. There are no really deep shades with the darkest available being mocha which looks barely deep with a red undertone. The shade selection usually varies by store.

Cool vanilla was an excellent shade match. The undertone is a perfect neutral shade for my skin tone.

This foundation contains an SPF of 15.

I didn't get much shine at all. I did not touch up at all during the day. I didn't live the settling into my fine lines, wrinkles and pores nor how it looked on my blemishes, around my nose, mouth, or chin.

That being said, I don't hate it. I think I'd love this in the summer when my skin is oily and blemish free. I'm going to keep trying it possibly mixing a drop or two of facial oil or mixing with a more luminous foundation. I like the shade match and the overall look when it warmed up to my skin. But, for now I'd only recommend it.

I got this at Walgreens cause it was on sale for $8. I initially wanted their matte foundation; however, they didn’t have my shade. I have combination skin so I didn’t mind getting this Stay Perfect. I love the shade and that it doesn’t oxidize, dry out, get patchy, etc. it lays down smooth and looks extremely natural. It’s about medium coverage, I haven’t really tried to build it up because I have pretty good skin as-is. I don’t need full coverage. I love that it contains sunscreen and no scent - I have super sensitive skin! I work 12 hour days and while I notice it doesn’t stay on amazingly perfect all day, it holds pretty well.... I think if I had a more expensive primer & setting spray it would probably stay perfect. I would only repurchase if it was on sale again. I think next time I’ll try out their matte line!

I did a split test on my face comparing this against the Milk foundation. This performed nearly the same, possibly a tiny bit less coverage and the shade "Calico" is less pink than the shade I used in the other foundation. Also, this one has SPF which I like. It is a little thick and heavy when you first put it on, but it blends out very nicely with good coverage (better than medium in my opinion) and I set it with my Maybelline FitMe pressed powder. Lasts all day! I got this for $14 from Target which is an awesome price against the $40 for the Milk foundation.

I have super oily and acne prone skin, but I've been trying to find a breathable and comfortable foundation that would still cover up my imperfections. This foundation is incredible for my skin and I'm obsessed with how much coverage I get with this foundation. I would definitely recommend trying this foundation no matter your skin type!

What can I say, this foundation is a drug store cosmetic dream! It’s a little more pricey than your average drugstore foundation but a million times better. Extremely lightweight but had the coverage I needed, also paired with their other products I immediately saw my skin getting noticeably better! I would definitely recommend for people who want high end results without the high end prices!

This has really quickly become a new favorite foundation of mine! I was using the lift and luminary for a long time and love it. I then got a spray tan and wanted to try something different for that skin tone so I decided to try this. It was around $15 at Ulta and then I used their $3 off coupon. It has a very natural matte finish that looks just like skin. It is medium coverage but I built it up a bit while still maintaining a very natural look. I wore it for the first time to a rainy football game and it still looked pretty good after! I’ve worn it a few times since and it last such a long time without touch ups and looks great. Highly recommend!

I am very picky about my foundations. I feel like many foundations make my skin look oily, and I am always nervous to buy high end foundations. This foundation was more expensive for a drug store makeup. I purchased it for about 15 dollars, and I have not been disappointed. This foundation has great coverage, is light weight, and matches my skin tone almost completely. I don't even need to wear concealer when I wear this foundation. I love this foundation, it has SPF in it which makes me feel better about being out in the sun for a long time. It is long lasting, light weight, and by far my favorite foundation I have used. I would definitely recommend this foundation to a friend!

This is my favorite go to foundation. When I want to do more natural makeup I pair this with the bare minerals tinted moisturizer. For full coverage days I wear this on its own. I have dry skin and this is the best full coverage foundation I’ve ever tried! Trust me I’ve tried my fair share of high end foundations and this is my favorite!

I've been using this for years and havent had many issues with it. It goes on creamy and smooth without looking cakey. It stays on all day and controls shine (I have dry/combo skin) and covers up my acne and other problems areas when building it (medium coverage). It does have a little bit of a weird smell to it, like paint, but the smell isnt strong and goes away right after applying.

I fell in love with is foundation April 2017. It's the best foundation I had tried. Medium to full coverage, it's not caky, won't make my dry patches be noticeable, amazing color selection... I used many foundations high end and drugstore and none can compete with this one. This is my holy grail.

I've always wanted to buy this product but can't seem to find the right shade. Do you mix two shades or how did you decide on the shade?

Is this foundation good for use under contouring? I need a light but durable foundation to build upon and most foundations make my face cakey and heavy feeling.

I have pale and oily skin. What foundation would you recommend? I usually use No7 Stay Perfect™ Foundation SPF 15 but the palest shade isn’t pale enough for me at this time of year!

I am going to be going on holiday abroad in the summer and I have been after a new foundation that is long lasting, somewhat natural but with decent coverage, and with spf in it. I like a quite luminous finish however I do not mind adding that myself with some glowing primer. Just wondering if this foundation was any good and if anyone would recommend? Also what’s the finish like? And is it actually long lasting/water resistant? Xxx No7 Stay Perfect™ Foundation SPF 15
