This rug is thick, beautiful, and a neutral taupe color. It’s slightly warm in color but still neutral for most decor. The style is so pretty and modern. The design is gorgeous and I can’t decide if I’m going to put it under my table as planned, or in my bedroom sitting area where it will make more of an impact. It is thick, over half an inch and high quality wool. It will shed for a while as all wool rugs do. This is a characteristic of natural material and you cannot get better than wool! I have not had to get rid of a wool rug yet. My oldest wool rug is about 12 years old and still looks as beautiful as it did the day I got it. This rug feels soft and substantial under foot. It is heavy weight and does not slide around once furniture is placed on top, but for runners or small rugs I use a rug pad to be safe. I did not notice any smell, but with some other wool rugs a slight musky scent can be present. I recommend unrolling and letting it breathe with a window open or fan on for a day or two if it has a scent.
