Does this thing really work? I'm thinking if you need something like this just squirt some warm water in your nose

It's not JUST water - this takes distilled/purified water and it has a packet that you mix into the water - that's what makes it work so well.

This works, it is recommended to use it frequently and use distilled water. Has helped during allergy season

Definitely don't use plain warm water. The packets that come with it are used to make the water less harsh on your sinuses and nasal mucosa. Also the Neti Pot allows water to flow up into the sinus cavity and removes debris and allergens that are trapped all the way up there.

It's not the same AT ALL, the saline solution makes all the difference in the world... not to mention if you're not using distilled water you could be putting yourself at risk for some unpleasant bacteria. Definitely get the Neti Pot!

Plain water doesn't really help. I've used it with the mixture it comes with, and I've tried with just warm water once. Warm water did NOTHING but drip to the back of my throat and make me feel gross. I wouldn't recommend using it without the packet it comes with.

The water wouldn't reach your upper sinuses and it would probably hurt. This is a great product just make sure to follow the directions.

Squirting water is DEFINITELY not the same. In fact that would probably hurt and this doesn't if you do it correctly. I use this every night and I have reduced the amount of colds I get per year greatly. If your nose hairs are clean they are more able to "catch" the germs that go in through your nose and protect you from getting sick!

This goes all the way into the nasal cavity and gets all of the dust and junk out, so squirting water is not the same.
