I had high hopes for this foundation. I really wanted to love it because of all the fabulous reviews I have read and watched. It looks absolutely amazing on others, but unfortunately, it just didn't work for me. Firstly, I have dry skin so all those little dry patches that I didn't even know I had were put on display after applying the Nars Foundation. I did prep my skin with serum, moisturizer, primer... really anything I could find to try to make this my new go-to foundation. It didn't work out very well. After about an hour of wearing the foundation I noticed that I could see ALL my fine lines and wrinkles... again, some I didn't even know I had. My checks look super blotchy which was a HUGE turn off! I bought the Nars Foundation at Sephora, and for $48, I just expected a lot more :(
Now for the great things about Nars...The packaging is amaz-balls! It has a pump which helped to not waste any product. Because there IS a pump, the application was easy a faster than others. Nars also has a great range of colors to match your skin. If you go to Sephora they can use their Color IQ device and find your specific skin color! I really loved that Nars has sooo many colors to choose from. Plus with the Nars Foundation, a little goes a looong way! You don't need to much of this stuff to cover your face.
I'd recommend this to people with skin that is somewhat clear and more on the oily side! Hope this help someone!

Decades, ladies, that's how long I've spent trying to find a foundation. 80% of the time, the colors were off. I have very pale skin with a yellow base, but lots of redness on the apples of my cheeks. Most years I just gave up the search and went without, and looked like I'd overdone the blush. But lately I got into the search again. After trying a lot of compact foundations (which ended up being too drying), I tried the various Nars colors. Surprisingly, the colors Mont Blanc and Deauville, which I thought would be closest for me, were not - because they have a lot of peach in them. Gobi is actually my perfect shade. I bought the Sheer Glow foundation and have worn it since Thanksgiving 2010, for everyday, for parties, whatever. It doesn't melt, it doesn't look spackly. Just makes me look like I have nice, smooth, even skin. Because of this, I've transitioned to Nars for almost every makeup product I use (except Guerlain for eye shadows because I like more than just 2 colors in a palette, and Diorshow mascara). Very happy. The only thing that I noticed to make this a little "off" is that it is not really a 'glow' foundation per se. I am here on Amazon to buy the Multiple in Copacabana to add a little shine to my face.

This is one of my holy grail, go to foundations. First off, the shade range is pretty good for fair shades. I'm usually around a NC/NW15 and many brands don't have anything light enough.

Despite the name, this isn't really a luminous finish. It's more so a satin/natural finish, which I like (I have dry skin). I've seen this work for a variety of skin types, though if you have significantly oily skin I'd go with something else (*cough*Hourglass Immaculate Liquid*cough*).

The finish is somewhat build-able between lightish to medium full. The only things to keep in mind is this is a water based (with cyclopentasiloxane) formula so in my experience this won't wear well directly on something oily (like moisturizer). The second thing is Nars sells the pump separate for about $6, which is annoying since this isn't the cheapest foundation and it's a complete pain to use without the pump. All in all I still love it though.

This is a great, build able coverage foundation. It applies flawlessly with a brush or a beauty blender. I wear it for my everyday, natural look. I love that when I wear it, it doesn't look or feel cakey. My skin can actually breath. There are two problems I have with it though. I don't like the fact that it doesn't come with a pump, however this can be easily fixed and NARS sells foundation pumps. My other concern is that it doesn't hold up well at all when I sweat, and in South Louisiana heat, that's a problem. Louisiana stays hot and humid almost year around so I sweat almost every day. I try to keep blotting paper with me to control the sweating so it doesn't separate the foundation from my skin. Thankfully I use urban decays deslick finishing spray and that helps keep it all place for the better part of the day.

Review for: Vallauris (medium w/pink undertones)
I have this foundation in a different shade but I love it! I used to have super oily but also dry patches in my t-zone & a lot around my mouth due to over washing but this foundation is so beautiful & medium to full coverage. It does make you look oily if you don't powder & set the foundation. But now that I have gotten more into skincare, my skin texture has changed & it's more normal now than oily & with this foundation over my skin, it just lays on so nicely & leaves a beautiful dewy look which I love. It is pricey but it's definitely worth it! But I must say that Nars has changed the formula & has a new line of this foundation which I have used and I got to say it's less dewy looking & is more for oily skin gals so if you're purchasing either foundation make sure you know the difference.

Review for: Vallauris (medium w/pink undertones)
I've always been a drugstore makeup kinda girl, but I decided that it was time to buy my first nice and more expensive foundation because I simply wasn't happy with my other choices. I found this product and I couldn't be any happier. My skin always looks flawless when I wear this and despite it being a sheer glow foundation, I can build it up to full coverage with ease. It feels so light on my skin and I never feel cakey. Also, the color match couldn't be more spot on. I definitely feel like the only draw back was when buying this item I automatically assumed that it came with a pump but it didn't so I had to separately purchase it but luckily it was only a few dollars. Other than this drawback I am completely in love with this product and will definitely be repurchasing it in the future.

I recently ordered this foundation from the Sephora website. I have seen many people rave about this product, so I decided to try it out! When I first tested out this product, I wanted desperately for it to work. I applied with a beauty blender, and the color was perfect upon application. It gave a nice glow to my skin, and I loved the way it looked. Although because I have combination skin, it started showing my dry spots AND oily tzone throughout the day. This was very upsetting to me, but I knew I had to be honest with myself. I decided that this product was just not right for me. It's not a horrible product, but there was nothing about it that I found extraordinary. It was definitely not worth $45. Therefore, I will be returning this foundation to Sephora within the next few days.

Once I got into makeup, this was the first one that I purchased. I used it for quite some time, probably more than a year, and then I ventured on to new things. However, as of late, I have come back to this foundation because I forgot how good it is! The coverage is medium, but you could build it up to full. It may have a ton of coverage, but it does not feel like makeup is plastered on your face. The formula is uber comfortable, and once powdered - this stuff won't budge! My only complaint is that during the summer (the heat), this foundation doesn't keep my oil at bay as well. By hour three, I usually see some shininess, but it's nothing that some powder can't fix. This foundation is pretty pricey, but it lasts forever and performs well; so, it is well worth it!

For those of you with dry skin, I would definitely recommend this product! It gives a medium coverage and is pretty light weight. The finish is very dewy so if you have oily skin I probably wouldn't recommend this for you. I tend to get oily around my nose area so it's a problem for me there but that can always be fixed with a powder. I have a more yellow skin tone and it's not easy to find foundations for my skin tone even when color matching at Sephora, but I was able to find the perfect shade within this selection. There were times when I noticed this foundation emphasized my imperfections rather than cover them up but it's hard to find a full coverage foundation when you have dry skin. Overall, I think this would be best used for dry skin in the summertime.

This foundation is soooo good. I decided to try it after reading so many positive things and I'm glad I did! It's the most natural looking foundation I've ever used. It definitely does add lots of glow so if you're oily or combination, this might not work too well for you. i have a very flakey nose and this just glides over it. I've tried applying it with a brush and beauty blender and while both ways look beautiful, the beauty blender is my favorite. I definitely recommend using a primer and setting this foundation because it can slide around but adding powder does not emphasize my dry skin when used over this so I don't mind. The price tag is quite hefty but if you're looking to invest in a high end foundation, this one is beautiful.
