NARS Satin Lip Pencil
- "Nears is a great product and this lip pencil is great, it's nice and creamy and I can match it with a lot of my lipsticks I already have! " in 460 reviews
Beautiful lip product. Good color pay off and lightweight. No smell great for on the go. Cute packaging. You do need to sharpen but still a great product. I'm almost out of mine!
This is my go to MLBB and part of Sephora's Beauty Insider Gift for 2015. It's a really pretty shade that is subtle enough for when you have bolder eye looks or if you're going for No Makeup Makeup. It's not drying. The biggest complaint is that you can possibly lose product when you sharpen it, but that can be limited by freezing it before sharpening.
Got this for my birthday sample at Sephora. I hadn't tried it until now. Because lipstick never work with my skin tone their either too bright or too dark but this color is so perfect. It's smooth and goes on nicely. And very moisturizing. Can't wait to wear this out now.
What I love about the NARS lip pencils is that they can double as your lipliner and lipstick in one. That is a definite plus, it can be very hard sometimes to find a liner that matches your lipstick. They are very long lasting and the pigment is fantastic but they can be a little drying. I just pop some lip balm underneath and I'm good. If I don't, I do notice it flaking but again...just hydrate before hand!
I tried this lip pencil mainly because the Rikugien shade is a near-perfect rose pink. It's a color you can wear daily to give your makeup a finished look. I love how the formula glides on and the finish is really lovely. My only criticism is that it's not as long-lasting as it could be.

YES!!! This lip pencil is the best. It is creamy enough for me and it lasts ALL day - I mean 8 hours for sure. The color is the perfect "Barbie Pink" and really pops. I have let multiple friends use it and the color works for them too! This lipstick is definitely worth the extra $$ as you don't have to reapply and of course because it looks fab.
I love this color! When I want a hint of color with a small amount of shimmer, this is my go to. It does not make my lips feel dry and it lasts about as long as other lip products, the staying power is nothing special. I would not mind trying other colors to see how they look. It is a bit on the pricey side, but mine seems to be lasting a long time.
I wish wish wish the pencils twisted up. It's a pricey lip pencil and when it's sharpened the formula is being wasted in the sharpener 🙈😩. I have gotten to the point of putting the sharpened residue into a separate container and using a lip brush. I mean, you really have to love this lip color to go through that trouble. PLEASE MAKE THEM TWISTY!
Q & A
Will this dry out my lips?
SERIOUS AND HELPFUL ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE I absolutely love this lip pencil, I got it b a a trial and then bought the full size. I've been using it for about a half of a year now, however, as of late I have had trouble with my lips being abnormally dry. I've never had problems with chapped lips. I stopped using lip products for a week and it cleared up, but when I started using it again they chapped again. This has only been within last few weeks. I'm curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this and what they did to remedy it. I don't usually use lip primer, but that may be a possibly solution? It could be something unrelated to the lip product, but I'm thinking it is related.
Worth the price?
Is this worth the money? How is the quality? Does it last a while?
Is it really worth the price if it isn't a twist-up pencil? Seems like it would need to be sharpened a lot
