I've been using several potting mixes from Miracle-Gro and I'm pleased to say that they're fine to use. I don't understand the general animosity towards the brand (i'm looking at your Redditors!). It works fine and my plants are thriving!

This is my go to potting mix. I purchased from Lowe’s. It’s always reasonably priced and even better when there’s a sale. I like that it has a dry texture and it’s stiff, it makes for less mess when potting with children. It easy to store and lightweight to lift.

Extremely dry. It doesn’t hold water no mater how much water I add. It is practically a sieve. And it has TONS of large wood chunks in it. I’ve bought this soil in the past and it was normal, but after getting this bag, I won’t be buying this soil anymore. From my research online for similar experiences, it sounds like it is a toss-up on whether you get a normal bag of soil or if you get what I got. I am not willing to take that gamble, so I won’t be buying this soil any more.
