We used the gel stain color coffee for our steps! We sand it down to refinish the wood on the steps. It’s not fully completed yet because we still need to put the white risers in the back. But overall we love how it turned out and the color. It’s definitely dark. This was almost two coats. The first coat was a bit blotchy so husband went over in areas where it was blotchy. Overall we like how it turned out. It just sucks because dark color gets dirty so easily but it’s so chic and modern looking! The odor is very very very strong! We had to leave the house and have all windows open!!!

I recently decided to refresh my kitchen cabinets with Sherwin Williams Minwax Gel Stain, but unfortunately, I ended up pretty disappointed with how things turned out. The gel stain was much thicker than I expected, and no matter how carefully I applied it, it just wouldn't go on smoothly. This left me with a patchy, uneven finish instead of the sleek, rich color I was after. To make matters worse, it took way longer to dry than the instructions said, which really threw off my entire renovation timeline. Even after several coats, the results were underwhelming. Overall, I was really frustrated with this product and wish I’d gone with something else.
