Description

If you suffer from symptoms of acid reflux or frequent heartburn, you are not alone. Member's Mark Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed-Release Capsules can provide a reprieve from gastrointestinal pain and discomfort for up to a full day. This product treats frequent heartburn (occurring two or more days per week). It is not intended for the immediate relief of heartburn, and may take one to four days for full effect. How can Esomeprazole help you? Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed-Release Capsules are in a category of drugs called Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs), one of the most advanced classes used to treat conditions like: Heartburn Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) Gastrointestinal (GI) ulcers caused by infection or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) Prevention of ulcers in the esophagus (the tube connecting your throat to your stomach) Symptoms of high stomach acid Other conditions as determined by your doctor PPIs are designed to reduce your stomach's acid production by deactivating the acid-producing "proton" pumps in your stomach's lining. PPIs work differently than antacids and H2 blockers, other common therapies for the treatment of acid reflux and heartburn. Antacids work by neutralizing the acids in your stomach because the chemicals in antacids are bases (the opposite of acids). H2 blockers block histamine receptors in your stomach's acid-producing cells so less acid is produced. Antacids and H2 blockers tend to work faster, but PPIs provide relief for a longer period of time. PPIs are available by prescription or over-the-counter (e.g, online or on the shelves of pharmacies and supermarkets). How do you know if you need Esomeprazole? Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed-Release Capsules are intended to treat the symptoms of acid reflux disease with persistent heartburn that lasts at least two days per week and does not respond to other treatments or change of diet. For many people, Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed-Release Capsules are also used to heal damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid, but this condition is only diagnosed by a doctor. Though results may vary, Esomeprazole heals most erosions in four to eight weeks. What is heartburn or acid reflux? Over 20% of Americans suffer from heartburn or acid reflux. Heartburn is the painful or uncomfortable feeling you get when stomach acid backs up into your esophogus (the tube that connects your throat to your stomach). Your stomach lining is generally able to handle the strong acids necessary to break up your food, but your esophagus is much more sensitive. Though there is a valve called the esophageal sphincter between your esophagus and stomach that prevents acid from leaving the stomach, sometimes that sphincter does not create a perfect seal and stomach acid flows backward into the esophagus. The result? Heartburn. Dietary and lifestyle changes, in addition to or in lieu of this product, may mitigate heartburn symptoms. We invite you to discuss preventative and treatment options with your healthcare provider.

So glad I found this. This is the equivalent of NEXXIUM for a fraction of the cost. I have to take NEXXIUM every single day. Now I just use this instead as it is much cheaper and I would definitely recommend this product. I sure hope my review helps someone else like me find a cheaper alternative.
