For over 20 years now, I've been a loyal MAC Cosmetics fan, enjoying their extensive range of quality products from eye shadows to lipsticks and everything in between. I'm fascinated by MAC Cosmetics because they offer an impressive range of colors, with shades tailored to suit every possible skin tone under the sun. About 15 years ago, I discovered the MAC Cosmetics' Select Cover Concealer Foundation while shopping at Nordstrom. A beauty advisor assisted me in finding the perfect shade. At the time I truly appreciated the entire experience because I did not live near a MAC store/counter. I'm a big fan of the pigmentation of this product, and how easily it blends into my skin. Plus, the extensive shade range from MAC Cosmetics meant I could choose a product that's an almost perfect match for me. Despite being labeled as a concealer, I found it can also be used as a full-coverage foundation, which made it a versatile product for me to have in my makeup bag. The Select Cover Concealer Foundation from MAC Cosmetics comes in a convenient tube packaging, which makes it easy to store in my makeup bag. It's accessible and perfect for traveling without worrying about spillage or making a mess. Although the Select Cover Concealer Foundation by MAC Cosmetics is great for covering in perfections and blemishes, I have to be honest when I say that its thick consistency can sometimes cause breakouts on the skin after a few uses. The reason why I stocked up on the product was my admiration for its performance and flawless coverage at a modestly good price point. Yes, it is true when I say that pigmentation and the resulting color payoff were some of the most flawless I've ever seen. However, I must be honest when I say that this product it's comedogenic and broke me out many times. Although the product provided outstanding coverage, longevity, and pigmentation, it did not agree with my skin at all after frequent use, causing relentless acne breakouts. I've tried, tested, and used other foundations and concealers from MAC Cosmetics and they did not lead to any breakouts, so I don’t know what went wrong with this product. Personally, I cannot endorse nor recommend the Select Cover Concealer by MAC Cosmetics because of what it did to my skin and if the rumors about its discontinuation are accurate it is likely due to its inferiority compared to other MAC foundations and concealers, as well as, its negative impact on the skin after prolonged use.
