Such an amazing eye primer/base for shadow. Really leaves your shadow on all day long. And they just came out with new colors and I am obsessed!!! You can use them as liner too, or just a pop of color on the lids.

I have been using this for a few months now on & off, inbetween using my other eyeshadow primers. I love that this color matches me perfectly - I am fair skinned. It does not crease. It covers my veins pretty well, but not completely. It really reminds me of a concealer actually. The way my eye makeup shows up over it is nice and it isn't a sticky base, so it is still easy to blend. I guess I am giving it 4 & 1/2 stars (and not 5*) because it isn't quite my "perfect" eye base. I think it keeps eye makeup in place, without fading ok. But I feel like there is a better one out there for me. I am still on the hunt. It is a perfectly fine eyeshadow base though and gets the job done. I am still playing with some other ones though and find myself reaching for them over this MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot ... Swatch is shown on my hand for shade reference for shade Painterly

I have loved this product for 10+ years. It has always been consistent. Doesn't crease on my large eyelids. Makes the perfect base for other shadow and the pot lasts forever. I highly recommend this product! I've tried a few colors and haven't been disappointed yet! MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot

Oh how do I love MAC Paint Pot! They are great to use as a primer. You can really use any of the colors they have as a primer, itll just enhance your shadow. You can also use it alone. It goes on so easy and isnt messy or anything. Its a bit pricey for the tiny jar you get but it does last awhile...and come on..its MAC! Best primer ever!

I absolutely love this primer. This is not as tacky as other primers, but it provides such a smooth canvas for packing and blending eyeshadow. I do have hooded eyes, so sometimes I like to combine this with a tackier primer to avoid movement of color from the crease for long duration of times. However, I really recommend this and don't forget to warm up the formula with your finger if it starts to dry a little or even apply with a finger and it looks so good! A big bonus is that this primer has a lot of product in the pot!

This is one of them must have products. It's the best eyeshadow primer, imo. I have big eyes and my eyelids have a lot of tiny little veins that you can see through my eye shadow if I'm not wearing this underneath, and I hate that.. so this is the perfect answer to my problem. It gives a nice, even base for your shadow. It doesn't crease, and it makes your makeup last all day long. I just saw a video on youtube where this girl applies this to her nose underneath her primer and foundation as a type of hack to prevent meltdown of the foundation, and she swears by it.. I can't wait to try this out because it doesn't matter what I use whenever i put on a full face, my nose ends up completely bare within a few hours! It looks so ridiculous having a beat face with a bare, red nose. lol so I'm excited to try this out. I have also used to under my eyes to help conceal my dark circles before applying concealer, and I swear by it. I definitely recommend trying this out, I don't think you'll regret it.

Review for: Soft Ochre, Groundwork
I have used this product for years, even repurchasing both shades once before. This goes on creamy, but has a slightly tacky, budgeproof finish. This makes it easy to pack shadow on top, greatly improving the performance of any eyeshadow you use. Most people with light-medium skin use the shades Painterly, which is pink/neutral-toned, or Soft Ochre, which has a yellow undertone. I’ve often meant to try the deep tan shade Layin’ Low, which I think is a better shade match for me than Groundwork or Soft Ochre (both pictured). But now that there are about a million primers, concealers, and eye bases to choose from, I am less likely to repurchase this product solely due to the price point. The texture is also a bit heavy, but- applied economically- you don’t notice that on the eye. Maybelline Eyestudio® ColorTattoo® 24 HR Cream Gel Eye Shadow is a similar product, and like that product, this needs to be stored carefully (jar tightly sealed) and used quickly (when product pulls away from the sides of the jar, you know it’s hardened and dried out). A justifiable cult favorite, but you can meet the same makeup need with a less expensive product.

Great question! Not sure I have an answer but I wanted to comment. I use both matte and shimmer colors. I’m terrible at throwing out makeup after a few months like I always hear you should due to bacteria. I have had pots for well over year and have found the matte colors get harder to apply because they are drying out so I throw out after they start separating from pot, maybe 1-1/2 to 2 years. The shimmer colors last longer but eventually do same. My bad habit shining thru on this answer 🤦‍♀️
