Lime Crime Matte Velvetines Liquid Lipstick
By far my favorite matte liquid lipstick formula of all time in terms of longevity, opacity & comfort. They are slightly drying but all liquid to matte formulas are to some degree. The wear time on these are amazing, they are one swipe pigmentation & they look absolutely stunning. Cashmere is one of my personal favorite shades, it's a greige color that seems to suit a multitude of skin tones from the fairest of the Fair to beautiful deep skin. Lime crime
Kills almost any formula they make from their Velvetines, Diamond crushers, satin lipsticks, & especially eye shadows.

These lipsticks pad out over 50% of my lippie collection and I have no regrets. It seems like they have a shade for everyone’s tastes. Personally, I think the formula is pretty strong versus food and is not drying on my complexion. Stays on all day on top of lip balm no problem. Cupid (pictured) is my most favorite shade of all time! A must have for pink lovers. It is a true pink but it is soft, not overly vibrant. The packaging is so cute and it closes and opens easily. Lightweight but enough texture to it to feel higher class. I like that the applicator has a bit of shape but is not overly shaped—I need a kind of flat end to get the corners of my mouth and this is the best shape I’ve found. Most formulas have a marshmallow-like scent as well which I enjoy. Well worth the price.

I have used a lot of liquid lipsticks. I started with Stila and find the color and consistency to be good. I then tried Kat von d, and I like the consistency but found all of the colors I tried to be a bit too cool, muddy and grungy. They looked good in the package but weren’t flattering on my neutral medium skin tone. Enter limecrime velvetines. I started with a 3 pack of mini’s. I love the consistency of these. They are almost a thinner consistency than other liquid lipsticks- which I really enjoy. Makes it easy to layer a few thin layers and not feel like the application is too heavy. I would recommend having a q tip with some makeup remover handy when you apply. If you are too heavy handed it can smudge or drip a bit. I have now purchased multiple sets and singles directly from limecrime. They typically have sales on the singles and sets which makes them more of a value than some other liquid lipsticks I have found. I have yet to try a color I don’t love. I own a lot of nudes, pinky maybes, reds and some dark goth and metallic options. Some are definitely nighttime or party options but they are all really pretty and flattering. I also love the packaging of these. I would recommend exfoliating before applying. And the company recommends applying a balm a few min before than dabbing it off to get some moisture. I still find I like to add a bit of gloss on top to keep it from being too drying and typically need to reapply for this reason.

Love this product!

First off let me just say I haven't bought this product in years so they may have figured out a better consistency but in my experience it's not great. I've received one that wasn't really mixed and just left my lips slick and only slightly red. These colors are awesome but they seem to flake and start to look bad pretty quickly. Also it is really hard to want to buy from this brand based on their ethics. I stopped years ago when I learned about the owner's behavior; if you're thinking about buying her products you should really look her up and see if you want to support her. The packaging is cute, it's trendy but it's not great, the colors and formulas are said to be stolen (often from sugarpill), the head of the company has done questionable things.. it's not worth it. You can find great dupes of this that come from better companies. Also generally you can find better quality for that price.
I'm a huge fan of this brand even though people want to bring up the "scandal" the products are really good. I ordered the bloodmoon and moonstone limited edition colors and I was so in love with the moonstone color. It went on smooth I didn't really have to layer it and it lasted all day it was perfect but sadly the discontinued it.

The bloodmoon that I order was a whole other story...it was streaky, did not layer well, was very flakey, and even if you used a lip liner it bled like crazy. The swatches were so beautiful and I had high hopes but was so disappointed with it but hey you can still get this one on their website so go try it for yourself.

I also ordered one in the color raven. It's a very nice color it goes on nice after a layer or two. It bleeds a little without a liner but with a black liner it looks great. It does stain your lips pink after removal so just a heads up there .

I got this during a sale in a 3 pack. I usually use colourpop because it’s so cheap but I wanted to try limecrime and the price was about the same at the time. I have to say first off, it smells so good! Not like “I want to lick it off” good but just nice and pleasant and not like chemicals. It goes on really smoothly.. I couldn’t feel it on my lips at all! The shade really worked for me and it lasted all day. I definitely would recommend if you have money to spend. It’s pretty pricey unless they’re having a sale.

So I love lime crime, I think there packaging is adorable, the scent of there lipsticks is heavenly almost a light sweet cream scent, but I don’t recommend there liquid lipsticks... There formula is very pigmented which is nice but the color bleeds way to much for me, after an hour you’ll notice some light smudging and if you drink or eat anything you’ll defiantly need to hold onto some concealer in your pocket or purse because it’s very very unforgiving and due to the high pigmentation it stains your skin. Other then the fact you must reapply and conceal very very frequent there’s nothing wrong! I would only recommend this product for a photo shoot or on stage performance that won’t be requiring you to keep the lipstick on for a long period of time!

Lime Crime Matte Velvetines Liquid Lipstick
I received a full size Lime Crime matte velveteen liquid lipstick in one of my beauty subscription boxes. I love the color Buffy, which is a beige nude color. It is a lovely neutral that will go with anything and allow me to be more bold with my eyes. I don’t like how drying this formula is to my lips. It is such a shame because I love the color but after a short amount of time my lips are uncomfortable from the product drawing together as it dries. It is tolerable for a little while and the color is pretty enough that I’ve kept it but there are better liquid lipsticks out there available.

I want to love Lime Crime but I find myself increasingly disappointed each time around. On a whim I purchased the color Cashmere when it was on sale at Ulta. However, when it arrived I could not have been more disappointed. The formula is too watery to big a good matte lipstick, and when it drives it leaves my lips feeling like I've never exfoliated them. Maybe I got a bad batch; though I doubt it. The color was also a huge letdown. On the lime crime website it is shown as a purple color; however what I received was a straight gray color. Super disappointed and would never buy this full priced - half would even be a stretch.

This would have to be one of my favorite shade from Lime Crime for their Velvetines. The reason for my 3 star review on the product is based mainly on the amount of dryness my lips get when wearing their liquid matte lipsticks. I’ve never had my lipsget this dry from any of my other liquid lipsticks. I would love the Velvetines so much more if it was more comfortable to wear...it’s unfortunate that I have so many of them too. I love the colors they come out with and all the ideas they put into their lipsticks are always so cute, but I wish it wasn’t what seems to be the most dry lipstick in the world.

I just bought Red Velvet because I've seen Lime Crime pop up here and there and figured I'd give it a try, and was wandering how good the product is before I gave it a try?
