I have tried Madison Teed twice for highlights (going dark brown to dark blond highlights) and it’s worked really well for an at-home kit. I skip the toner though because it did make my hair brassier with the toner. I loved the color without the toner and I will be using them again.
This is an amazing product. It's $45 and is set up almost like a gift! There are extra gloves, easy to read instructions, etc. I love this kit and will definitely be using it before my next #vacay ! This gives great gray coverage and long lasting color!
My hair has been virgin for 5 yrs until I decided To try His balayage kit. I walked my husband through how to do it but we didn’t use the V-shaped tool it provided. I taught him how to paint on the highlights in my hair looked so good like I’d had it done at the salon. The color came out amazing and my hair wasn’t fried. I recommend this to people who have experience in doing hair not for beginners.
Easy to use and doesn’t seem to be as damaging to hair as many other like products. Be sure to deep condition regularly as with any lightening process on hair. Also, be sure to apply medium pressure when using the wishbone tool—too light and you’ll have weird streaks with empty spots or too hard and you’ll lighten more than you bargained for.
Yessss this is the only this that has lightened my hair at home with one use. It comes with toner which really makes a difference and everything is so nicely organized and laid out for you. Anyone can do this. It will pull warm and brassy if you struggle with that but it is so good.

I just completed the Madison Reed Balayage Highlighting Kit and am so pleased with the look. It does require some aspect of comfort when it comes to coloring and lightening your hair and is definitely do the strand test to see how long you will wear the lightener for (depends from person to person), but I had a great result with this kit and would buy this again if I choose to do a balayage treatment in my hair again. I never dye my hair but was given this recommendation and I really like this brand. I’ve used them for highlights as well as to cover up my stubborn grays. I would definitely recommend this to novice hair dyers as well as those who feel comfortable dying their hair.
