As a teacher I use this set for our robotics competition team with FLL. I like the online platform that comes with building and coding examples and my students can follow along easily. This set has lasted us 5 years and counting.

We use this for our FIRST LEGO League teams and it's a modern version of the older Mindstorm. This kit gives you everything you need to get started in robotics. It comes with the main hub, sensors, motors, wheels and a lot of different LEGO parts. It's even better when you buy the expansion kit which gives you more options of the type of robot you want to build. It's connectable through USB or Bluetooth to the computer and it even comes with its own spike prime app. The hub has built-in gyro sensors and also a LED display. The wheels are a little bit more thinner and slipperier than previous version but you can also swap it out. This is definitely worth the cost for kids and adults.
