This little multi-tool has come to the rescue more times than I can count. It’s basically the tool box essentials in your pocket (I use the pliers and screw drivers significantly more than the knife.) The best part: unlike other multitools, the individual tools can be accessed one handed. So when you’re holding something in place with one hand, realize you need a screwdriver or pliers, the skeletool shines. A great gift for anyone that’s handy or just for someone to keep in the car “in case”.

I bought my Skeletool with gold accents about 10 years ago for $99. At the time, it just seemed like a stylish variation of the regular model, but later I found out it was a limited edition, and now its value has gone up to $1750. The quality back then was definitely better than what Leatherman produces today — the fit and finish were more precise, there was no play in the tool, and the blade held its edge much longer. The gold plating also turned out not to be just for show; even after years of use, the coating is still in great condition. The multitool itself is light, comfortable in the hand, and fully functional. These days I hesitate to use it, since it has become more of a collectible than a practical tool. What once was just a handy everyday multitool has turned into a rare and valuable piece — and a pleasant surprise for me as an owner.

It’s not too bulky. The knife holds a good enough edge for EDC and the folding mechanism have always had a good positive swing. I love the blade placement. The pliers are just right, I’ve abused the cutters on swapping out fishing hooks and other stuff. The screw drivers are just about as one could expect, (always there at the right time). The bottle opener and Carabiner are still going strong with no complaints. Overall a perfect knife for me.
