My kids love taking pictures with the camera and customizing it. My 10 year old son likes changing and choosing avatars. He also enjoys listening to music on it. There are multiple games that you can put into this unit to play. Without games there are drawing options, video making, kids can take care of a virtual pet, take pictures and work with graphic arts. This can be hours of fun, especially on a long car ride that takes 8-10 hours. I own multiple Learning Tablets because I have multiple kids. We have this in green and the purple one too. The kids share all the video games. We store everything in a stackable tote on a shelf with other kid’s toys and games to stay organized when the LeapFrog is not being used. We also have the specific case for all of the Tablets as well. It takes 4 AA batteries and it comes with a plug-in for the wall. It’s definitely durable as I have had it for many years and it has gone through many children. The sound is good and I often have to tell the kids to turn down the volume, so it works great. Headphones can also connect into this Leap Pad. My son even has to blow into this when using it on a game of taking care of his pet. I really appreciate the learning games that you can buy. My four-year-old is learning letter and number recognition and there is a game where you can trace the numbers and letters while the child is being told what the letter is plus how it sounds and what words it can be used in. It’s a mini teacher. It comes with a pen for drawing on the screen, that is attached so it can’t be lost. Overall, this is a great game system that has kept our kids entertained for hours upon hours. It is a very good value for everything it offers.

A friend had this for her son. While I appreciate that these tools are attempting to educate children, I also feel that devices, such as these can be detrimental to learning for young children. Parents should pay attention to age appropriateness of toys, such as this. However, this toy was fun and interactive.
