A silky powder with a touch of sheer coverage to set makeup for long wear. Multiple award-winning. Cult favorite.

Sets makeup for long-lasting wear, without adding weight or texture. This "best in beauty" bestseller creates a modern matte finish with a touch of sheer coverage. Absorbs oil and reduces shine all day. Pros know why it's their favorite: the powder is a little denser than an average powder, providing super smooth, even application and blending. Now in two shades, to offer a translucent finish for every skintone, from the fairest to the deepest.  The Original Translucent shade works best for fair to medium and tan skin tones while the new shade Translucent Medium Deep was designed to work best on medium deep to the very deepest skin tones, so every skin can enjoy a perfectly flawless, translucent finish.

Backstory: I bought this product because I was looking for something that would reduce the natural shine my skin has. It’s not particularly oily or anything but it has this shine that I don’t like since I prefer a matte finish. Unfortunately, I can’t use most mattifying products, like gels/primers, because I have uber-sensitive skin and they cause me to break out. I also don’t wear foundation so I needed a product that would work alone to reduce my shiny skin and this really does the trick. It is NOT incredibly mattifying but does reduce the amount of shine that I have. It minimizes the appearance of pores and makes my skin look more even and smooth, ESPECIALLY when my picture is taken. Flash can be my worst enemy and this product really minimizes my imperfections in pictures. Pros: Good value- you get a lot of product. This will last me forever. Very finely milled. Reduces shine. Works wonderfully with a primer underneath (for those that don’t wear foundation regularly). Works well with darker skin—although I’d be careful with putting too much on, because even though it’s translucent, it does change the appearance of your skin tone a tiny bit Cons: too much powder comes out—I wish the container was designed a little differently so that a measured amount of powder is released. Wish it gave a more matte look, but it’s meant to create a “soft-focus” appearance, which is nice also.

I have a sample size of this from somewhere--don't remember where anymore--and it's honestly lasted me so long. I can't even imagine how long the full size would last; a friend said she's had hers for at least 2 years. This stuff is a cult classic for a reason, y'all: it works. It really does. I have drier skin so I don't always set my face all over with powder (I prefer setting spray, even though I know most people do both), but I have to set my under eye area so my concealer doesn't crease. This stuff is awesome, and a little bit really goes a long way. I've used a powder brush and a beauty sponge to apply and I find I prefer the sponge to stamp it in. I don't really bake with it, I try to use just a little bit of powder. When I finally run out of my sample, I'll probably buy the full size, but that won't be for a while at this rate (which my wallet appreciates--this stuff is bomb but also not cheap and there's so much other makeup I would rather buy instead.... hehehe)

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder is a tinted loose talc-based powder. The formula provides very light coverage and controls shine with the addition of corn starch

This setting powder is a cult favorite, award winning product. It’s also the #1 selling setting powder at Sephora.

So, let’s talk about what a setting powder even is. The purpose of this product is to SET your makeup without adding any heavy coverage or color to your skin. If you suffer from combination skin, like mine which is both oily and dry, this product is perfect for you. I usually just blend this in with a makeup brush or use a beauty blender to conceal under my eyes and highlight my forehead. The product comes with a petite puff, but I prefer using a makeup brush to effectively blend the powder into my skin.

I seen a couple of review on this product on YouTube. I don’t think I ever came across one with someone of darker complexion, so I wanted to try it out. I’m not going to lie im not perfect at makeup and I’ve tried quite a bit of Translucent Setting Powder and this is so worth it. The product is very buildable and what I mean by that is that it’s not as bright , you can start with a little and then keep adding to you’re desire. They give you a lot for your money’s worth also. This is my got to Setting Powder now and it looks perfect on darker complexion also. I can’t believe the have a medium tone two. This is a must have if you ask me I love it. I was a bit hesitant because I spent 38 after tax and all on something that I have never used. I got it because of all of rave and was so scared to experience a flop. I had my little NYX inexpensive setting powder, but this, OH MY GOSH!!!!! I now know what I was missing out on. This has quickly become a staple in my routine. A little goes a long way, thank god, because with how expensive it is it should last me a long time. Not to mention it doesn't leave kickback on the camera or a white filmy chalkboard like texture. It leaves my skin so soft and just SET! I will never let myself run out of this ever.

I’ve had this since I was a senior in high school, so it’s been six years of having it. I don’t know if my product expired, but it does work for me by giving me a matte finish. But it doesn’t last long, so I don’t know if my product is just too old lol. Also it gives a lot of visible dry flakes around my nose and under my eyes. If anything, it enhances my fine lines under my eyes when I thought it was supposed to help the foundation blue them!
I see all the time that it’s a loved product by all beauty gurus but for me, it doesn’t hold up after three hours. I don’t remember how I felt about it back in high school because that was years ago and my main purpose owning it was for dance competitions, but I did stop using it for the first half of college because I wasn’t always wearing makeup. I might buy another one eventually and try again, so I would recommend it for oily, combination, and normal skin types!

Heaven sent for my oily skin! I’ve tried other powders (Banana Powder & rcma no color) and tbh nothing compares. I have oily skin and found that this keeps me Matte the longest and actually feels like it sets my face without adding color. It really is finely milled and makes my face feel soooo soft and smooth. I have not experienced flashback in photos either so that’s a plus. I of course wish it could be cheaper but when I compare it to the rcma or banana powder I feel the quality is way better and can see why it’s priced the way it is. A little goes a long way and it does last if used sparingly. I go through about 1 a year. Ive been using it for about 3 years and will continue to purchase unless I find something else!

Wow, wow, wow. When I heard about yet another translucent setting powder that swears it won’t cause flashback I was skeptical. But I went out on a limb and decided to try this product and I immediately went back in and bought some for myself.

It settles invisibly on the skin and really helps to set everything I have on in place so that there is a lot less budging and fading of my blush, contouring, etc. throughout the day.

This is an expensive product but if you have room in your budget I really recommend it. You don’t really need to use a lot of this product at a time and it comes in a pretty large container that I am sure will last me a while.

I recommend this for anyone looking for a photo perfect setting powder.

I don't think I'll ever love another setting powder more than this! I use it EVERY SINGLE DAY and I'm never disappointed with it. It keeps my face looking matte all day long, and keeps my foundation and concealer from creasing. It works well with every makeup product I've used. Simple makeup looks or full face glam looks, it's amazing. It doesn't make my makeup look cakey or faded/powdery. It's so perfect for every day makeup. I definitely recommend this product to everyone, and I will continue to purchase this product.

Currently I'm using the elf translucent powder but I've watched a lot of makeup tutorials that use this powder. I tend to have dryer skin. Does anyone with dry skin have any issues with this product?
