Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation SPF 15
An oil-free, long-wearing, liquid foundation that delivers medium-to-full coverage and leaves a natural-looking, velvety-matte finish for up to 24 hours.
For those long days, this foundation gives you the full coverage, comfortable, long wear that you need. Not thick or greasy, this foundation's innovative formula gives all skintones flawless, complexion-perfecting coverage, while the broad spectrum SPF 15 sunscreen protects. Redness, pores, and imperfections visibly disappear, evening the skintone and leaving a mattified-yet-natural result. Formulated with color-true NAI pigments, it maintains your skin’s pH level so that color stays put all day long—meaning your makeup doesn’t need to be re-touched and provides transfer-resistant coverage—plus, it’s infused with perlite and silica, absorbing oil for a shine-free wear.
This expert formula took Lancôme eight years of research to perfect and unveil. This product is oil-free, fragrance-free, transfer-resistant, noncomedogenic, dermatologist-tested, and suitable for all skin types. Its 35 shades were developed based on real skintones so that everyone can find the perfect match.see more...

Now that it's fall, I wanted to try out a new foundation that's ideal for combination/oily skin like mine. I walked into Sephora, swatching every matte foundation there is, but Lancome's Teint Idole Ultra Long Wear Foundation was what got my attention. Right off the bat, I loved its texture when applied to my skin (I swatched both at the back of my hand and jawline). I asked a Sephora specialist to color-match me, and 320 Bisque W was the perfect match when she applied it on my left cheek with a brush.
I've been wearing this foundation for three days now, and I'm so far loving it on my skin. I have used two different primers under this foundation: (1) MakeUp Forever Step 1 Mattifying Primer and (2) Rimmel Stay Matte Primer. I find that using the MakeUp Forever primer makes my skin matte, but also makes it very dry to touch. When I used the Rimmer Primer, however, my foundation went on smoothly using a flat-top kabuki brush (similar to Sigma's F80 brush). I have also tried applying it with a damp BeautyBlender Pro, and the coverage became a bit more sheer (but not BB/CC cream sheer) unless you add more product to build up the coverage (a pump and a half is usually enough to cover my entire face). I set this foundation with CoverFX's Perfect Setting Powder and spray on Urban Decay's All-Nighter Long-Lasting Setting spray for final touches.
I knocked out a star in my rating because my foundation holds up to about six to eight hours of wear before needing to blot it with blotting sheets and/or blotting powder (I use CoverFX Blotting Powder). This foundation also doesn't come cheap, so I couldn't give it a perfect rating for that reason.
I do feel like I have to use a fair amount of product to cover my entire face and for that and the price, it bothers me. BUT, when it sets the transfer is minimal and it feels so light weight. I can take the good with the bad.
In a nutshell:
Solid, buildable coverage
Dries down quickly
Looks natural and doesn’t sink in to find likes excessively.
The price per ounce
Amount of product I’ve had to use
It does oxidize slightly (seriously they all do!) and I feel like I have a SLIGHT orange undertone at the end of the day.
