There’s no denying that La Mer is the definition of luxury—from the sleek, weighty jar to the signature rich, velvety texture that melts into the skin. It’s deeply hydrating, soothing, and leaves skin feeling plump and pampered, especially for those with dry or mature skin. The signature Miracle Broth™ is supposed to work wonders, and while it does make skin feel incredibly soft and nourished, the results aren’t exactly life-changing compared to other high-end moisturizers.
The biggest downside? The price. While it’s a gorgeous cream with a lush, indulgent feel, the cost is astronomical for what it is. There are plenty of more affordable alternatives that offer similar hydration and nourishment without the luxury markup. Still, if you love a lavish skincare experience and don’t mind the splurge, it’s a treat.
Smells like the Nivea product but I’ve tried both and Nivea (while hydrating) doesn’t compare to La Mer. La Mer makes your skin Glow The texture is thick but quickly absorbs into skin once warmed up. If you use Tretinoin La Mer is a must to keep skin glowing and prevent peeling.
For me, La Mer was not worth the hype and the price. I have combo to oily skin that is also sensitive, and this creme was just too thick. The packaging is simple and does allow you to get every drop out (as it should- you’re paying top dollar and do not want to waste!) I also did not love the smell, the best way I can describe it is “rich grandma’s home filled with antiques.” I know some people swear by this, but trying this product was a good reminder for me that just because something is hyped doesn’t mean it’s right for you.
