Okay, so for someone like me who pretty much exclusively mixes my rum with cola, Kraken Black Spiced Rum absolutely hits the spot. It's not some fancy sipping rum, and it doesn't pretend to be. What it is is a fantastic base for a classic rum and cola. That signature vanilla and spice really comes through and adds a lovely depth to the drink that you don't get with just any old rum. It's got a good sweetness to it, which blends perfectly with the cola without being overpowering. Honestly, it's my go-to. I've tried other spiced rums, and some can get lost in the cola or have a weird artificial flavor, but Kraken always delivers that consistent, enjoyable spiced kick. Plus, you can't deny that the bottle looks pretty cool on the bar cart. For the price, and especially if you're like me and your rum ends up in a glass with cola anyway, you really can't go wrong. It’s a reliable, flavorful, and all-around solid choice that I keep coming back to. Five stars from this cola-mixing enthusiast.
