Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation
Let me start by saying this foundation is ahhhmazinggg❤️a little about my skin ..I’m 45 with decent skin some fine lines around eyes and smile lines 😁but it means I’ve been happy a lot right lol I’ve learned to age gracefully 😁I have dry skin mainly on my cheeks and nose with large pores on cheeks on either side of my nose .. I’m not a full coverage type of chick I prefer a sheer skin like foundation that’s not matte and deff not overly dewy this foundation imo has the perfect amount of coverage and dew lol gives a slight glow but not over the top I apply this with my fingers first it has an almost lotion type texture and melts into the skin beautifully doesn’t emphasize my pores or settle into fine lines at all after I apply with fingers and rub in I got over with my beauty blender and it’s perfection it deff can be build up without caking has a very skin like finish I get many compliments on my skin when wearing this 😁has no smell and is non irritating I wear this 10 hrs plus and it looks great all the way until I take it off I wear shade 113 which matches my light/medium skin tone perfectly it’s pricey 66$😱😱😱lol but to me it’s deff worth the price tag lol and also they have reformulated this foundation apparently which I’ve read the reviews for and the reviews say the old formulation was deff better which is the version I have so this makes me sad because this is my holy grail hope this review was helpful feel free to ask me any questions 😁I’ve added a pic of me wearing it no filter just me and my koh gen do❤️lol

I always wanted to try this foundation and on the Koh Gen do website they had an offer where I can send away for samples or $ 6 dollars. When I got my sample pack I selected light pack. This actually gave me 12 sample packs, two in each color. Each package gave me enough foundation for two light coats. I was always told they have a poor shade range not if you have light neutral skin. If you have light neutral skin they have everything! I went through all the shades and all of them were close enough for me to wear because I love the foundation so much. It has a high medium coverage and is very dewey. It’s smoots over pores, doesn’t settle into fine lines, and most of all is actually long wearing! Some other foundations this is like yet better would be Armani luminous silk, make up for ever HD foundation, Dior air flash, Givenchy photo phexion spf 20. This foundation also has an SPF of 15. I did not notice any photo flashback. They also make a compact with the exact same formula! I have been dreaming of finding a foundation I like that also has a compact on my color and now I finally do! If you buy the foundation and the compact at the same time on Koh Gen do’s website you get a20% discount! If you want to try this go for the sample pack I promise that six dollars will be the best money you’ve ever spent!
This has been my absolute favorite foundation for over a year. It is extremely lightweight and somehow makes the skin look completely perfected. What is even better is that you can make any foundation look better by mixing some of this into it. I needed a long-wearing foundation recently when I went on vacation. I solved the problem by mixing this with some Revlon ColorStay. It looked absolutely beautiful and lasted all day! The only downside is the color range. I absolutely recommend this if you can find a shade that works for you.
This was my go to foundation for a very long time. It is very light and moisturizing. It applies to the skin beautifully and does not cake or clump up. It is a very light foundation and definitely not a full coverage. Very natural look and did not break me out at all. It is a pretty heavy price tag although it does last a long time. I am currently using a CC cream that I love but haven't found a true 'foundation' I liked as much as this one. Most sit on my face funny. Might have to suck it up and repurchase this again. Very lovely light coverage foundation!
This is one of the best foundations I've ever used. The coverage is light to medium but long-lasting, it looks like your skin but better. It has a beautiful radiant finish. A little bit goes a long way. If you have dry skin you definitely need this foundation in your life. The price of this foundation is definitively worth in my opinion.
I had recently fallen in love with KGD Aqua Foundation, and was halfway through my first bottle, when they announced they were changing their formula. I was super worried I wouldn't like the new formula and would have to start my foundation search all over again, but I actually love this even more than the old formula. This one stays in place better-- for instance, when I'm putting on blush/bronzer the new formula seems to lend to a better blend. It also looks more natural in my opinion, and I think has slightly better coverage, which is a double plus in my book. Also, like the old formula it lasts throughout the day super well, this one even better if you ask me. Since I was worried though, I also ordered Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation and that was amazing as well. I decided to keep using both for now: the Guerlain when I'm outside all day because of the SPF, and this other days. So, if you were a fan of this in the old formula but not the new one I recommend giving Guerlain a try!
Pretty good. I have been looking for an everyday foundation that doesn't look too heavy, is long lasting, and is nourishing to my skin. I think I finally found it in this. Coverage is light to medium, which is great for evening out discolorations, gives a luminous glow to the face, and with a good primer, has lasted up to 10 hours. I do have oily skin though, so I have to be careful to apply a proper primer and set it with a matte setting powder to keep the shine down. Most non matte foundations turn my face into an oil slick within 4 hours... this one hasn't. The only negative thing I have to say about this foundation is the shade selection is very weak, catering to light to medium (light) shades.
This foundation is my HG of all time!! My skin is dry with redness and large pores around the nose. This foundation is a dream because it manages to cover up the redness and mask my pores, yet doesn't cling onto dry flakes and emphasize dryness. I have been using 213 because of my yellow undertone (also tried 113 which was too pink on me, and 123 which was too dark). If you are looking to try shades, I would go on the Koh Gen Do website and order samples to find the shade for you. It's not free, but it is definitely worth it to be able to try out the shades before committing to this high-end purchase. It doesn't last all day though even with Hourglass primer - after about 6 hours it starts to break up on my skin (even though my skin is dry, it does start to get oil which affects the foundation). I've repurchased at least 3 times and have just ordered more as backup.

This foundation was on my wish list for a long time and I regret not buying it sooner. It works great on my dry skin. It provides light to medium coverage with a skin like finish. Your freckles still show thru which I like! I love this for a good everyday foundation since you can touch up even on top of powder though I don't feel like I need to set this. It wears very well and doesn't crease into smile lines.
I love this foundation and wish it played better with my oily skin, as it would then be my holy grail. This foundation has a radiant finish that looks like second skin while also making you look healthy, hydrated, and evening out your skin tone. The coverage is medium and can be built up to a light full-coverage, but if you have any acne scars/PIH, they will still peak through. The only downfall to this foundation is that it doesn’t stand a chance against oils: within four hours of wearing, it begins to break down on my oily skin and settle into my smile lines. If you have normal to dry skin, I think this would be perfect for you. Also, if you want to try it out, their site offers samples and all you do is pay for shipping, which is a GREAT deal for those who aren’t sure the finish will work with their skin/what their color is.
Q & A
I've seen so many you tubers rave about this foundation and its quality, but I've been on the fence because I believe this is a very high priced foundation. For those of you who have used it: was it worth it to you? Would you say that it's the best of the best?
Is it dewy or matte?
Does this product leave any buildup? How long does it last once applied? I've heard it has a photo finish look. Wondering how well the coverage actually is.
Is it dewy or matte finish??
