I've been onto this Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wah) seed for a little while now. That's right, it's not a grain, it's a seed. Despite its name translation of "mother-grain" from Incan culture. Quinoa is an easy substitution for rice. It takes about 10 min to prep, half the time as rice. Also, on the positive side, quinoa is a complete plant protein. For a long time it was argued people had to eat meat to get all the amino acids we need. Not true! Quinoa is one of the plants that has all our necessary building blocks of protein!
