I received a sample of this foundation because I had been dying to try it for a very long time. I love the Lock-It Tattoo line by Kat Von D. This foundation was easy to apply and wasn't hard to build up to full coverage but unfortunately it ended up sitting too heavy on my skin. I use to not mind that cakey feeling you can get with too much foundation, but I can't stand that feeling anymore. I love full coverage foundations, but this foundation did not give me the full coverage I needed with a small amount of product. I would recommend to someone with younger skin and possibly has fewer blemishes/scars to cover up so that they can easily use less and get away with it.

I purchased this foundation and was highly disappointed, especially after reading such good reviews. I found the consistency to be so thick and stiff that it wouldn't even blend. I tried multiple brushes, beauty blenders, and even my fingers, but the makeup would not blend. It dries so quickly that you need to try to blend it before it sets. I ended up with spots of foundation on my face because it literally dried after seconds. Additionally the foundation was two shades too light, even after matching my skintone/undertone to the website description, which I believe was a little misleading as the descriptions were not accurate to what someone's correct shade would be. I would not recommend this, especially not for textured skin which I have. It's not really worth the price.

It’s all about application technique with this product. Because it is a matte foundation it can be a little tricky. I’m going to be honest, when I first got this foundation I was on the fence. To me it looked a little cakey but at the time I was applying with a brush. I switched to a real techniques beauty blender type sponge- damp. I also spray some Mario bedescu rosewater mist on to the foundation.
Another thing is using a good primer.. I’ve been using nyx angel veil. Now I love this foundation so much.. it covers so well that I don’t even have to use concealer anymore.

This is my holy grail foundation. I find myself leaning towards this foundation over all the others. This is full coverage so if your a light coverage gal then this may not be the product for you, but I love it because it covers up all my imperfections and gives me the confidence that I desire. I wear it on average for 16 hours. From morning to night and I literally never need touch ups apart from some oil blotting. As for the stickiness. You need to set this foundation with some setting powder and once you do that it feels so light and it doesn’t transfer. I definitely recommend this if you want to have a good amount of coverage that lasts for a long time.

No. Just no. Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation made me look like a corpse that aged 20 years. I tried it in Light 42 Neutral, fair porcelain with neutral undertones. I prefer light coverage foundations, but wanted to try this out because it has such good reviews. I applied it with a RT sponge as thinly as I could. But this just looked awful on me. Even with setting spray it settled into fine lines and looked cracked. The shade also washed me out completely. Look I'm pretty fair, but this made me look like I'd been dead for weeks. Couldn't even make it through the end of the day with this on. Hard pass. Sorry Kat.

I received this product in a Voxbox courtesy of Influenster and tried it out for a week before diving into this review. To begin, I have sensitive skin that gets oily through out the day and is very acne-prone if I use the wrong products. I applied this foundation first with a brush to see how the coverage/finish was when applied, and it was VERY heavy. You know when you put a foundation on and you can just feel it sitting on top of your skin? That is how this foundation feels, almost like a mask. When applied with a damp beauty blender, the coverage is a little less but it feels a lot more breathable. For longevity, it lasted around 5-6 hours on my skin before it started looking rough. Unfortunately, within an hour, it had settled into my fine lines and left my skin looking 10x more textured. The good thing about this product is that it didn't seem to irritate my skin or leave me with any new breakouts, which is always a plus. So, with all of that said, if you don't mind looking like you have a face full of foundation on, this might be an option for you. But in my opinion, for the price, it just isn't worth it to me.

This was one of the first higher end foundations I have ever purchased and it has it's pros and cons. Pros being: It is very full coverage, to the point where you can cover up ANYTHING..tattoo's, sunburns etc. I loved that it was my perfect winter shade because a lot of foundations don't fit me exactly but this one was pale enough for my liking. Cons: It can feel a bit heavy on the skin compared to other foundations, but that's because it's so full coverage. During the time I was using this foundation I had a lot of acne on my face and it did a good job of not clinging to my dry patches because the foundation is more of a creamy texture.

This is my second bottle - this is absolutely the BEST foundation I've ever found for oily skin. It is the ONLY foundation that I don't get oily breakthrough after only an hour. In fact, I never get shine through with this product which is why I wish I had it years ago, I'll never use anything else as long as this is available, and I love it. I know everyone says this, but I have tried way more than my fair share of oil-free, shine-free, mattifying, etc. foundations and none work at all. Then this comes along and works so completely it's amazing.

i love this product! a little goes a long way and if you like to mix foundations, this one works well with all different kinds to add a little more coverage. its a matte finish but it honestly doesn't look flat, with highlighter you can still achieve a really dewy look without the oil. i have combo/dry sensitive skin so my cheeks are dry but my t-zone can be oily, but setting this foundation after application it doesn't budge or stick to dry spots. also, you can sheer it out if you don't full on glam coverage which i do all the time, but it's also super build able.

Okay, I've been eyeing this for a while but I just don't want to buy a high end foundation again and be as disappointed as I was with the Too Faced Born This Way 😩 I have oily, acne prone, combination skin with a super dry nose. I have a lot of redness from acne and so on and I want something that covers it all instantly! I want something that stays matte all day, with or without primer, and doesn't melt off no matter the weather. I am super light (like ghost light) as well with a yellow undertone and wonder if they have any good shades. Does it oxidize? Does it wear off around the nose? Can you apply it both with a Beauty Blender and a brush? Would you say this is a foundation for me?

I really want to give this foundation a try and I have been hearing mixed reviews. Is this product worth the money or should I try something different?
