Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation
I love this foundation! I have had so much trouble finding a shade for my skin that doesn’t make me look orange or pink. The cool grey undertones help so much. It’s full coverage too so if I have blockages it’ll cover them right up. The only bad part is it smells pretty heavy at first (kinda like paint) but you get nose blind to it really quick
Amazing foundation, full coverage yet light enough to wear without getting oily. I’ve been wearing it for years. It’s also vegan which is great. I also own the setting spray which is good for a night out.
Purchased at: Sephora

I LIVE for KVD lock it foundation! I have cystic acne and terribly uneven skin so I need a super full coverage and this works great. I’ve never had a foundation that covers this well and once I tried it I’ve been unsatisfied with just about everything else. I’ve seen a lot of reviews saying it’s too thick, I can say if you do not need a super full coverage this may not be for you and a little goes a long way. I found it applies best with a beauty blender as I didn’t have luck with a brush due to its thick consistency. For best results the lock it primer needs to be used with it.

Love this foundation!! It is full coverage and it’s matte. If you have dry skin you might not like this foundation because it’s really matte. Also the foundation feels heavy on the face of you don’t like heavy foundations I don’t recommend this product. But it does last 24 hours and it does not get as oily like other matte foundations.
Cakey! Do not like it. Maybe because I have oily skin it’s not formulated with it. It’s hard to find brands that stay on my skin even after setting it. This is def is not one of them. However it does go on great very blend able. Fits my shade perfectly. Just don’t like the cakey look.
This is my every single day wear foundation. Once I found this foundation it’s been my holy grail. I would recommend this product to anybody it dries quickly and is a matte finish and not much setting powder to set it. It keeps my blush and bronzer in place all day I love this product

I really like this product! I work at Sephora, and have worked at Ulta, and have always struggled to find the perfect foundation. My full time job is with kids, and I have oily skin...ergo I need the most matte foundation there is! A co worker recommended this foundation, so I got a sample and have fallen in love. It comes in a variety of colors which is exactly what I needed, it’s easy to apply but also dries and sets quickly with a perfect matte finish. I wear it for 12 hours a day and legitimately have NO issues with smearing, melting, smudging, anything. Worth every penny!

This foundation is okay. I am getting older and my lines are more prominent. This is extremely thick, and it does cover up most everything, but it is just too thick for my skin, it settled into my smile lines and made what few lines I have on my forehead look very noticeable. It lasts a decent amount of time, but not a full work day for me, after about 8 hours it starts to break down and look cakey. I tried it with different powders and primers, and it just wasn’t anything I wanted to continue wearing. If you have less texture and lines, then I’m sure this would work great.

For the past few years I’ve only really worn BB/CC creams due to my acne prone skin. Full coverage foundations almost always made me break out. First of all- my skin has never looked so flawless- EVER. I used a foundation brush and about a drop and a half of product and I literally looked airbrushed. I honestly didn’t know my skin could look that good, and every scar and blemish was covered beautifully. Second- it stayed put all day. Third- no bad reaction or breakout! This will definitely be my go to when I’m looking for fuller coverage/special occasions. I highly recommend.
Q & A
What is the best way to apply? fingers? brush? beauty blender?
Okay, I've been eyeing this for a while but I just don't want to buy a high end foundation again and be as disappointed as I was with the Too Faced Born This Way 😩 I have oily, acne prone, combination skin with a super dry nose. I have a lot of redness from acne and so on and I want something that covers it all instantly! I want something that stays matte all day, with or without primer, and doesn't melt off no matter the weather. I am super light (like ghost light) as well with a yellow undertone and wonder if they have any good shades. Does it oxidize? Does it wear off around the nose? Can you apply it both with a Beauty Blender and a brush? Would you say this is a foundation for me?
Does this foundation come on very thick?
I have Rosacea, would this be able to cover up my rosy red cheeks?
I really want to give this foundation a try and I have been hearing mixed reviews. Is this product worth the money or should I try something different?
