Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation
This looks so good wen you first put it on. By my god around 4 hours later it's cake city. Separating all over the place. I don't like this at all and I was so excited to get it. I think urban decay all nighter is a lot better
I unfortunately found this foundation to be very cakey, the colour is perfect! But I find it hard to apply and it isn't very long lasting. I really wanted to love this!!
I have to agree with everyone else, this is definitely a full coverage foundation and a little does go a very long way. I'm super pale so for me I have to get the Light 42 but it can be hard to find at my local Sephora so I only really use it for special occasions and sometimes I do have to be careful as it did break me out once or twice but I do love it, maybe not as much as my Nars Sheer Glow but it is worth every penny.
Definitely took me a few goes to play around with it and figure out how to work it best, but now it's hands down my favourite foundation. A little goes a long way, two drops on your face and a good buffer brush and you are set for flawless skin without the feeling of thick makeup. With using less, the foundation does not oxidise. However, definitely recommend moisturising or priming beforehand because it can get a little drying.
Some have said that this foundation is too thick to use and looks cake, and my thoughts are is that they are not applying it correctly. You really need a small amount of this foundation and it is important to work in sections because it does dry very quickly. I usually mix this foundation with a liquid illuminator to thin it out and make it look more skin like when applied to the skin. It is very good for keeping your facial oils at bay throughout the day. This is my go to foundation for winter months and also looks wonderful for a night out and in photos! Love Kat Von D products!!!
Q & A
What is the best way to apply? fingers? brush? beauty blender?
Is this a full coverage foundation that works with hyperpigmentation?
Okay, I've been eyeing this for a while but I just don't want to buy a high end foundation again and be as disappointed as I was with the Too Faced Born This Way 😩 I have oily, acne prone, combination skin with a super dry nose. I have a lot of redness from acne and so on and I want something that covers it all instantly! I want something that stays matte all day, with or without primer, and doesn't melt off no matter the weather. I am super light (like ghost light) as well with a yellow undertone and wonder if they have any good shades. Does it oxidize? Does it wear off around the nose? Can you apply it both with a Beauty Blender and a brush? Would you say this is a foundation for me?
Does this foundation come on very thick?
I have Rosacea, would this be able to cover up my rosy red cheeks?
