I looked through Q&A and noticed term "baking" that I don't quite understand. What does it mean in the context of setting powders?

It locks in the makeup so that it stays put! It also helps to defray oil so it is helpful to bake where you get the most oil on your face.

When you "bake" it means that apply a thick coat of powder on your face and let it set for about 10-15 minutes. After that time you gently dust off the excess powder. Usually most people bake under their eyes and along your jawline just under your cheek contour. What baking does is sets your makeup but mainly make those areas brighter. I hope this helps you

It's when you apply a loose setting powder to set concealer/Foundation using a damp beauty blender or sponge. You use a good bit of powder and let it just sit on your face for awhile before brushing it off. It's called baking because as the powder sits on your face your natural body temp. is "baking" the powder.
