After grooming pets for over ten years, I've yet to find a good use for pin brushes when it comes to dog or cat coats. I love this brand of grooming products, but pin brushes are better left for human hair use. Other types of brushes work way better for whatever need you have from removing undercoat to detangling. If you use these on long hair the pins tend to make tangles and mats even worse since theycan so easily get caught right in the middle of a mat. Stick with slickers, combs and undercoat rakes and yyou'll be set!

My cat loves this brush! I worry that the pins are too harsh, so I usually will just hold this particular brush out and let him rub against it as he pleases. He particularly likes to gently rub his face and chin on the pins.

This is easy to use on your cat, its just like a normal brush for humans but it is curved a bit. My cat loves to be brushed with it, just don't push down too hard on they wont really like that .

In my opinion, after being a professional dog groomer for over ten years, pin brushes are basically useless for any kind of coat on cats or dogs. They tend to easily snag and get tangled in longer hair and shorter coated animals just have so many other brushes that work on them way better, making a pin brush just unnecessary. Slicker brushes and combs and rakes do a much better job removing undercoat, detangling and smoothing.
