  • "i love love love these blushes! they have become my go to staple in the past year and a half! they apply beautifully (though i definitely recommend using a brush to apply- i use the e.l.f. stippling brush) and last all day! i've tried pink escape, getaway red (my fav!), and poppy paradise. i wish there was more variety in terms of color- i would love to see a pinky coral color!" in 3 reviews

This is a great cream blush!! If you are a fan or are in the market for Glossier cream blushes, this is comparable to those. These work great with and without makeup. With makeup, i personally like to PACK the blush on heavy and then put medium-ish foundation over, to give an internal glow look. For no makeup days, i put a light amount over my nose and the ball of my cheeks. Looks great and lasts long on my skin.

These are such a cool formula. They really do have a gel formula that I think works great for dry skin, but would also work for oily skin types as well. It’s not shimmery or glittery, but it’s not matte either. It just leaves a wet look to your cheeks, but it lasts all day. Great cream/liquid blush if you’re looking for one.

I had never tried a blush like this. Nor have I found one comparable since. Of course it's not a powder, but it's different than cream or liquid blushes too. This "gelee" has a very unique feel and texture! Not only does it have great color payoff, but has great skincare benefits too! True to the Josie Maran line, it's infused with argan oil, but also has coconut water in it too. Having two great moisturizers makes this one of my must haves for the hot summer and dry winter days! Days that I don't want to wear a lot of makeup, if any at all, I add a little of this gelee to the apples of my cheeks for a healthy color and glow. Especially in the summer when I don't want to cover up sunkissed skin, but want a more polished look, this works beautifully! In the winter when your skin may feel dry, this will help restore moisture during the day. It's those days when powder blush can intensify the look of dry skin, and some cream blushes will settle into the tiny creases and patches of dry skin. The application of this gelee is comparable to how a moisturizer would blend. I like to use it as a lipstick as well. You can build up the color nicely. So it's perfect to keep in your purse. Dab a little on your cheeks and lips, add some mascara to your lashes, and your good to go! For application, I mostly just use my fingers. Sometimes I'll use a stipple brush when applying to my cheeks. I recommend starting with very little and building up. A little goes a long way! If you opt to use a stipple brush, try lightly touching the bristles to the gelee. I like to then take a tissue, and swirl it a little before application to make sure there is not too much product on my brush. I would normally swirl the brush on the back of my hand, but this pigment acts like a stain. So if you do, and don't wash it off your hand, it may leave some color behind. That being said, it's not hard to remove with makeup remover, cleansing oil or baby wipe. Just keep that in mind if you're applying this on the go, and can't wipe your hand off. At the end of the day, once it's removed, your skin will feel soft and moisturized!

Happy New Year! Let's start the New Year with something quite pretty: Josie Maran is not only stunningly beautiful, but she uses her pretty head to concoct great skin and makeup products for the rest of us. Her "Coconut Water Cheek Gelée" is at once a beauty treatment and a cosmetic. Living in Hawaii, Josie found that drinking a lot of coconut water made her skin and hair glow even more, so she very wisely incorporated it into this ultra-lightweight blush ($22.00). It comes in a number of colors, from coral to berry to neutral brown, but my favorite is "Getaway Red," a true blue-based crimson reminiscent of rouges of old. The formula is actually cool to the touch (that is something I can't figure out). It blends easily and well and also contains argan oil to keep skin hydrated (along with the coconut water). I generally wear powder foundation and hear that it is a total dream to use if you use a liquid base, but I'm happy with the natural look it gives me, as if I've just come in from a walk in the brisk winter weather. Only a little is needed for a flattering flush; sometimes I use it on my lips to create a base for long-lasting color. The pot should last you a long time. This powerhouse gel blush lasts for up to fourteen hours, so it's great when you know you won't have time for touch-ups or will be in an area where your makeup may run.

I can’t get enough of these. They’re so easy to layer, which gives me the freedom to use them with whatever kind of look I’m trying to go for. The staying power is great.

I really wanted to like this product because I love the Josie Maran line but I was not feeling it. It did not blend. It's sticky. It didn't look right with my foundation that's pretty matte and powdery. I got this in a kit so I didn't spend much on it.

I love this product!! It's much better that some makeup blushes! It's really pigmented and you only need a little! It applies really well and stays true to its color! It's long lasting and nice!!! I don't know if I would buy it again just because of the price and it's only a little bit you get!

The first time I tried this blush it ended up looking like I had a rash or something on my face. Having fair skin means that I have to be careful with the colors I put on my cheeks, and this one was no exception! I have found that the trick to this blush is how you apply it. I have heard a ton of different ways that people apply this blush, but for me personally I stipple it on with the Small Flat Blending Face Brush and then I blend/stipple it some more with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. This makes it easy to control where the blush ends up and makes it super even. I love that it is pigmented but I can still see my skin through it and it looks very natural. It lasts forever- it is seriously the longest wearing blush I have tried, which is what makes it stand out as a blush. I was very impressed and I do recommend it! It will be perfect for summer!

Move over, cream blushers, here comes gel blush. and it kicks butt.
I've tried a few and this is the best formulation I've tried so far, perhaps tying with a $1 ELF stick blush I own (weird, I know). It gives you a natural blush, not a typical 'makeup' look blush. if that makes sense. I think the idea of makeup is to make it look like you're not wearing any. By being formulated in a clear gel rather than a thicker cream, this blush will move the dial a lot more towards natural/professional looking makeup. I have about a zillion blushes, so I cant remember if it is long wearing, so get yerself a tester to make sure. I hate when blush wears off.

I love this product! It's cooling and moisturizing and has great color payoff. I can wear this throughout the year even during different seasons. I use it on my lips sometimes for a little color. I find that powder blushes are drying and makes my makeup look cakey or flaky. This gives a natural inner glow type of look.

I have been using the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelee on my lips. Has anyone else done this? Josie Maran's products are all natural so I think I am in the clear in regards to mismatching placement. I must say though, that it moisturizes, deeply hydrates and sets a gorgeous pop of color! Am I alone here?
