Review for: Cool Brunette more...
I use this once a week to help extend the time between coloring my hair. I've used the John Frieda Color Refreshing Gloss for both warm brunettes and for cool brunettes, depending on which tone my hair is colored at the time. Both give great results and do not dry out my damaged hair.

John Frieda® Color Refreshing Gloss is very easy to use in the shower and only takes 3-5 minutes. I usually leave it on the full 5 minutes and rinse. This leaves a nice hint of brunette color on and actually covers my gray regrowth pretty well. Does not damage my hair and does not transfer onto towels or clothing. Be sure to wash your hands after applying and to rinse it all out thoroughly. I bought up all of the bottles of this at my local Walgreens a few weeks ago as they had it on "Last Chance" on their shelves. Not sure if it is being discontinued or if Walgreens is just going to stop carrying it, but I made sure to stock up.

Review for: Warm Red more...
The John Frieda colour refreshing gloss in warmer red was a great find for me. I wanted to extend my red color and keep it from looking faded and dull. This once a week gloss treatment is now a favorite of mine. It smells good, and leaves a nice soft silky feel to my hair. I might suggest wearing gloves though when applying because it does stain your hands a bit, like henna. It will wash off your hands, but you will have to scrub at it.

For haircolor touchups this product is great. It doesn't absorb your color but goves your hair color and vibrancy. It leaves the hair shiny and glossier than ever

Review for: Cool Red more...
I have used this product when my hair was bright red and it helped keep it shiny and toned in between color appointments. The price is easy to afford and you get a good amount of product. It also smells really nice.

I bought this thinking I could add some life to my dulling dyed hair. It was okay...buy I didn't enjoy the process and it didn't last very long. Made my hair a bit dry too.

Review for: Cool Blonde more...
My hair is a mixture of cool and warm blonde tones, interspersed with vivid red strands. Winter often brings out undesirable brassy tones. This gloss treatment makes my hair look new - soft and shiny. Unlike some blue or purple shampoos I've tried, this product doesn't leave any noticeable color deposits, just goes in and cools down the orangey tones. I don't like the smell though and I suspect that the chemicals are not great for health, but for occasional usage, I don't mind.

Review for: Cool Brunette more...
I first read about this gloss in Shape magazine and was curious to see what it actually did. I have had my hair color treated before last year and haven't done anything to it with color or lightener since, however I wanted to try this because it said in the magazine that this would help brighten up your hair color and I was excited to give it a shot! Upon finding the John Frieda color collection at Ulta I was a bit confused trying to figure out which gloss "shade" I would be; there was a box that said for warm brunettes and another box that said for cool brunettes. I know what each of these terms mean but was laughing because I never really considered whether I was a warm brunette or cool brunette. I ended up looking at the actual color selection at the colors on the boxes and choosing the cool brunettes because my actual hair color seemed closed to 2N and that correlated with cool brunettes (kind of dumb to do but I needed quick thinking and it seemed to work). I purchased this on sale for $11.99 (yay I love sales) and couldn't wait to get home and use it. I followed the directions on the box and after shampooing and conditioning my hair, squeezed out the excess water, put a quarter-sized amount in my hand and worked it in from root to ends. I obviously used a few more dollops as I have hair almost to the middle of my back and a quarter size wouldn't really do anything. I left it on for 3 minutes and rinsed it as usual. The box says to wash your hands after using it and be careful in the shower because it started getting on my white shower and I quickly used water to get it to come off. I loved the fact that after the shower I put my hair in a WHITE towel and after realizing how stupid this was, saw that it hadn't stained it at all. The fine print on the box which I LOVE says Ammonia & peroxide-free. Not a permanent hair color. Will not lift or lighten hair color. Will not damage hair. Safe for all hair types. I love this gloss- I didn't want anything that was associated with color because I want to let my natural hair and color get hydrated, brightened, and grow out! After putting in hair oil and combing through, I applied the usual hair products I do and let it air dry and was so happy to see how much more vibrant my brunette hair looked! It looked shinier and like my virgin hair! I love the fact that this product can be used even after I haven't color treated my hair in a year. The box says it will banish in-between color so if you haven't been able to get to the salon I would try this out; you can use it weekly (yay) and it is in no way damaging to your hair. I am ADDICTED to this gloss and have loved John Frieda products since I was in high school. It's a 6 fl ounce size for under $15 and you only use it weekly so you can definitely get away with going longer before hitting the salon. I have no plans to do anything to my hair but love the fact that it benefits my hair and adds shine and brightens it! Yay!

I love this product! I started using it when I would dye my hair, which I don't anymore. This stuff is great for not only keeping your color looking vibrant, but for me it was a great way to get a glossy sheen on my hair when it started to look dull/fade. I'll even use it on my hair now even though I don't dye it currently, for the shine benefits and to add a little bit of warmth. Great treatment especially during the colder months.

Review for: Cool Blonde more...
I really liked this product. I have very dark hair and I get super blonde highlights with silver. I hate how fast my hair gets brassy and I can't stand the orange but don't want to constantly pay a ton to get my hair glossed at the salon so I've tried many products to see if they will help. I heard about this from a lady working at ulta and decided to give it a shot. I liked it and I felt it worked pretty well. I still prefer a good purple shampoo over this but I do recommend using it to keep color fresh between salon visits.

This product was okay. I noticed a little more shine but was not blown away. After applying the product and rinsing out the texture of my hair was different. Mostly stiff...and was really had to brush out. I'm always willing to try some diy care but with this product I would rather just have it done in the salon.
