It is much smoothr than the black and green labels; because of that smoothness, never mix it with anything! Just straight from the bottle - no mixer or ice. It is nice and allows you to taste the various flavors that are there underneath it all!
Like everyone else here it is smoothr, you can also taste the vanilla and honeysuckle in it. Definitely more of a mix or sipping whiskey. Where I live it is actually cheaper than regular Jack Daniels..and better.
Best whiskey in the world? Not by a long shot. But it is the best Tennessee whiskey.
If you want a fancier Jack Daniels, then get the Gentleman Jack, but don't mix it, you waste the extra money you spent if you do. Just drink it straight up or over rocks, or even better, use whisky stones to avoid watering it down.
Gentleman Jack is definitely smoothr. There is not a lot of reason to spend the extra money if you are mixing but if you occasionally drink it straight upgrading to at least the Gentleman Jack is a good investment!
Gentleman Jack is much smoothr and to me, has more flavor. Gentleman Jack is filtered through charcoal twice instead of once like regular Jack.
It's worth trying if you have the money, but if you don't then stick to black label.
