Yep, I’m wondering if it’s ok to slightly file down that edge near the cuticles?

Yes. The gap between the nail and cuticle is too high.

Actually this has never happened to me, it could be that you aren't putting them on well enough. Make sure you push back your cuticles before putting them on, then when you do make sure that you slide the nail under your pushed up cuticle. This way you won't have any gaps for your hair to snag in,

This is always going to happen to a certain extent because the glue does not reach the base of the nails (close to your cuticles). I don't think there's any way to get around that because if they made the glue go all the way it would prevent the nail from laying flat at the cuticle. The first few days I usually get minimal snagging, towards the end it increases, especially when washing my hair. It does not necessarily mean that the nails are about to pop off because I've had the snagging and the nails have stayed put for days afterwards.

This always happens to me! I don't think there's anything to prevent this...just means that the nail if about to come off :(
