The nearest Ikea to me is 2 hours away, but I went a few months ago for the first time and spent hours shopping! We purchased a lamp for our new house (works amazing and easy set up!) , a bunch of candles, and a few other things. I couldn't believe how hooked I could get on shopping here!

As a university student, IKEA was the first thought for furniture for my apartment. While there is a ton of variety to choose from, the prices have gone up significantly over the years while the quality has remained the same. A better alternative was to purchase furniture second hand.

I like Ikea for selected items. When they have a sale usually it is a great sale and you can get tons of things for every room in the house. But I find that some things are too over priced for what they are. For instance, some of the furniture are not all that great and some have unfinished textures and are very simple and not the best quality but they can tend to be rather costly. Even some of the living room furniture like the sofas are not all that great in terms of quality but they aren't cheap for what they are. I like that the store has a restaurant we usually get the frozen yogurt and chicken hot dogs which are extremely cheap. The cinnamon buns are also really good. I don't like that there are not more exits, its almost like once you are in you are trapped, it just goes on and on. I also don't care for how you pick up your furnishing items, you basically have to do all the work yourself including going into the warehouse section and finding the correct boxes of stuff you need. Not to mention that many of their products don't come assembled and the instructions are not always great. I personally would shop at Ikea for small decorative items and for furnishing if I need to furnish a basement or spare room because not all the items are of top quality.

Ikea is always the one stop shop for anything homeware. For me personally I found it perfect as a student as you can get everything you need in one shop at a low price rather than going from shop to shop.

I love how Ikea provides modern, fashionable options for such a cost-effective price. I go here for things like coffee tables, bed frames etc. However, some of their chairs can be a bit uncomfortable - they are hit or miss. The shopping experience is always so fun!  IKEA

I'd be lying if I said my favourite store to wander in wasn't ikea. I love the food court too. I just really appreciate how vast their price range is. You don't have to spend a lot to get a nice and modern looking item but if you want to spend them money on a solid peice , it's also available.

Everyone goes there and everyone has a relationship to it. Just came from Ikea and saw a very expensive Ferrari parked outside. Almost all people furnish their first home with things from ikea. So everyone has a special relationship to the company. Personally I can't stand going there.

Sometimes you need to

The furniture do not seem as good as in the catalogues and the materials are usually cheap and not always of fine quality. Also you have to be 100 per cent sure that you have the skills to assemble the pieces sent but yet it is not going to be as easy as it seemed in the first place...

My house is pretty much made of Ikea furniture at this point. It's goes together so easily, and providing you don't overload things like drawers the furniture always lasts. We've recently bought some Kallax storage items and they look brilliant in our living room. Would highly recommend
