I think this is a solid product to use before a blowout. A little bit goes a long way for sure. I’m not sure it helps much with volume, but I have 1B hair that doesn’t like to hold any sort of volume. However I think the spray is much easier to use especially if your main priority is heat protection. I don’t think a balm like this is possible to spread evenly enough to properly protect your hair. It does smell better than the spray does though.

I’ve been using this for a while and I love it! You get so much product and it’s pretty lightweight. The packaging is easy to work with. A little goes a long way because too much makes your hair feel like it’s being weighed down. It smells so good and washes out very easily. Love this stuff and makes my hair super shiny and minimizes frizz.

this line has been a godsend for my heat damaged 3b/c hair. when i made the switch, i immediately noticed that the hair at the nape of my neck stayed smooth and straight despite socal sweat and humidity. by maintaining a smooth texture between flat iron applications, i’ve been able to heat style my hair less often and combat years of damage. i use the blowout balm prior to blow drying my hair, and find it cuts down on the blow drying time without leaving residue. i do try to be mindful of protein overload, but all of the products in the good behavior line seem to play nice together.
