Holland America Line
- "The dinning halls were beautiful but the staff was very unorganized, forgetting to come the table and ask if we needed anything else, and If you wanted to have a second helping of the entree you ordered, they said we (the guest) couldn't have seconds, that's the first time I've ever been n a cruise and was told no, no seconds are allowed." in 1 review

I enjoyed our trip on Holland America Line very much. We took a large extended family vacation and the hospitality of the crew as well as the entertainment were lovely. They even hosted a special holiday dinner because we sailed during the Thanksgiving holiday. The only stressful part of the trip was travel with multiple children and the minimum number of childcare hours offered at Club HAL. However, the wonderful staff’s work to accommodate our son, who is gluten-free, more than made up for the lack of childcare at certain hours of the day. They went above and beyond to make sure he wasn’t exposed to contamination, which would have been very detrimental to our trip and more importantly, his health. Our whole family had a wonderful time on this vacation and we hope to set sail with HAL again.
We traveled on Holland cruise lines last summer on a European tour. It was a great experience! The customer service was wonderful. The spa had amazing packages, and a salt water therapy pool was out of this world! The food was fantastic! I have nothing bad to say really.
I can not recommend this cruise line enough! Lots of room options, lots of price points, lots of port options... The vacation opportunities are endless and the staff and entertainment is spot on. Lots of amenities and extra curricular options. Lastly, the food is phenomenal. Each Holland America cruise ship has a very classy, high end feel.
We took a cruise from Montreal to Boston for 7 days and had a great time. That said, when we boarded, the crew didn't seem that friendly and they seemed very stressed out. 2 days our toilet stopped flushing and we had to run to a public restroom on the next floor. We also lost power one morning. Luckily we were in port so we just left for the day. That was fixed eventually and we had no more trouble. The food was excellent in the dining room and in the buffet. The crew warmed up and we had a great time. Even with all the inconveniences, I would count this past summer as one of my best vacations in a long time.
This was my first time ever going on a cruise and it was the best especially with this cruise line. Everyone on the cruise are super nice! The food is deliciousness very clean and every day night there was something going on to keep you entertained. It was very fun!
We sailed on the Westerdam this year for a themed cruise, where our group had chartered the entire ship. It was such a great week! The staff were all so wonderful, and I think they were amused by the eccentricities our group (a bunch of nerds) provided. Our trip planners were able to customize the itinerary so we could experience some ports that normally aren't available to normal cruises. The food was great, the cabins were spacious and clean, and we would sail with HAL again in a heartbeat.
I loved my cruise to Canada on the Holland America Cruise Line. It was relaxing and I received amazing service from all of the workers on board. It is a more mellow cruise line, generally composed of older aged guests, but for the trip I had in mind it was perfect. If you're looking for a boat to party on all day and night, this might not be the best option for you. I would highly recommend Holland America if you don't care about a wild party.
My husband and I went on our first cruise to Alaska last summer and we were blown away by the ship, the staff, and the overall experience. I was worried that I would be bored, stuck on the ship but that wasn't the case at all! There was so much to do that we actually had to skip things because it all seemed like to much fun! We are so thankful for this experience with Holland America and can't wait to go back!
I think Holland America is given the wrong rep for being mainly for older people. My husband I traveled with them a couple years ago and had a wonderful time. The ships are not the newest but some of the best service Ibhave ever gotten was on the Eurodam. There was a lot of younger people on the ship as well so not the older people only. They go to some great destinations.
I went on a family cruise throughout the Caribbean for 10 days. The staff was absolutely amazing, the entertainment phenomenal and the destinations unforgettable. There was plenty to do aboard the ship with events, parties, organized activities, pools, basket ball courts, etc. It was a Christmas and New Years cruise and was an amazing experience!
