Inappropriate levels of fat in the blood, inability to digest protein, or lack of digestive enzymes can affect your dog's digestive health. Efficient digestion is essential for you dog to be able to build and repair tissues and obtain energy, and for these reasons it is important to feed a food that is formulated to help support digestive health. For many dogs experiencing digestive challenges, it's also very important to feed a food with a low fat level. Hills nutritionists & veterinarians developed Prescription Diet i/d Low Fat clinical nutrition especially formulated to support your dog's digestive health. In fact, i/d Low Fat is clinically proven nutrition to calm & soothe the digestive tract. * Promotes beneficial microflora * Reduces risk of urinary stone formation * Supports a healthy immune system This food requires a veterinary prescription. Hill's is updating their Prescription Diet packaging and a portion of the name. This food has worked wonders for my pups! My chihuahua has always had a sensitive stomach, but it started getting worse as he aged. I felt like every 6mons or so, I was spending hundreds of dollars at the emergency vet clinic for "colitis" or "inflamed intestines". He and another one of my dogs started experiencing bloody diarrhea around the same time, due to their previous food. After a couple of days of them eating  Hill's Prescription Diet i/d Low Fat Canine Digestive Care Chicken Formula Dry Dog Food it stopped and the vet told us they could be taken off of it or continue it as their regular dog food. We decided to keep them on and they haven't been to the vet for stomach problems for 2 yrs now. I highly recommend for sensitive doggy bellies!  The only CON* is, if you are not buying it from a vet clinic, you have to have a prescription from your vet. Its also a little pricey, but you pay for what you get!

This stuff has been a life saver! Two dogs with very sensitive tummies. The vet put them on this and they’ve been doing better ever since! Cons: it’s pricey but cheaper than going to the vet with sick pups so totally worth it.
