"Strawberry "Hi-Chews", they were like an unexpected comfort blanket. "I bought my first pack at the Mall in Bangor, Maine. "I found them at a "Spencer's shop...just after my fiance left to go back to Oregon, after her 5 day visit. "We were heartbroken to have to be apart after a long 7 month "Long Distance Relationship... "Anyhow after she got on her flight..."I felt completely sad, numb and could not think of anything more than a reason to be able to smile even a little. "I went into "Spencer's and no matter how many interesting things I saw...nothing popped out like the little pack of "Hi-Chew Strawberry Candy!! "I bought 3 packs one for the sad long car ride home, and two for later... "Upon the first bite..."I was certain it was the best strawberry chewy candy I have ever tasted!! "It made me think of those days as a kid walking home from school, still carefree. "It saved me from wallowing and slowly brought me back to feel a little less miserable!! "I'm happy to share...we're now engaged and she moved here to Maine. <3"This candy has serious memories attached and gratitude fills my heart for their existence.
These Hi-Chews are by far the best chewy candy ever made.very easy to stick onto cavities, and braces. Affordable and can be found anywhere that sells candy. The mango banana is the best flavor in my opinion. Doesn’t taste artificial, not very feeling. Overall a great candy to have at any time. Hi Chew Fruit Chews. Very small.
These Asian chewy candies have a unique texture and taste. It’s almost as if you’re going to eat a piece of Hubba Bubba bubble gum but it has a smoother texture than that (and you swallow it). The taste is not strong but it’s there. They’re actually pretty good but very hard to find. I always got mine from a friend who’s mother was from Japan. I just recently for the first time ever found them in a store in a candy store in Louisiana. I think everyone should try them!
Hi-chew grape flavor is by far my favorite! My father bought these on a whim and they have been a cult classic since. They are the equivalent of starburst and mamba having a softer, longer-lasting child. The texture is oddly enjoyable and the flavor is just done right. Totally agree with this article about the need for everyone to get on the hi-chew train!
I've been eating these since I was a teen and they were 'fancy' imported candy you could only find at Asian groceries, now you can find them at Target! They're the type of candy I can devour a pack of without thinking! I love how they start kinda hard and melt down to a chewy texture, and the flavor is artificial in the best way? One of my fav Japanese candies!
These will forever and ever remind me of times spent with my grandmother. She loved her “chews” and though she always had a variety to choose from... this brand was always amongst her collection. :-) The flavor is still great & when I get some to share with my daughter, I inevitably end up telling her fun stories about my sweet “Nanny” that she never got a chance to really know. It is a precious treat that forever links me to my grandmother that I was very close to & loved very much!
I’m obsessed with these. They’re a chewy candy, as the name suggests. They’re kind of like Laffy Taffy. But they have a much more fruity, juicy taste. They’re addictive & I’m glad they’re starting to sell them at more places!
I am in love wit these things. They are really better than any fruity candy. They last long and trick your mind in to thinking you are really eating something hearty. They last so long your jaws might get tired.
Hi-Chews have got to be one of my favorite candies out there. They are so sweet, juicy, and satisfying. If you like starbursts, you will LOVE these! I tried them for the first time in elementary school and have been attached ever since.
I had the mango and grape ones and I love keeping them in my purse. They are so nice to chew when you want gum but don’t like mint or don’t have a trash can to spit it out. It’s a big plus that you can swallow it even thought it is an imitation of how gum acts. I definitely recommend it.
