I recently added Rocabar by Hermès to my collection and it has quickly become one of my favorite cool weather fragrances. This 1998 release feels like a warm hug from a high end stable blanket. It is classy, comforting, and has that perfect balance of spice and wood that makes it stand out from typical fresh or sweet scents.
Right from the first spray you get a nice burst of juniper berries and spices with hints of lavender and citrus that feel fresh yet deep. It quickly settles into a rich heart of cedar and cypress that smells like walking through a warm pine forest. The base is where it really shines though. Soft benzoin, vanilla, and balsam create this creamy, resinous, slightly sweet drydown that feels cozy and luxurious. There is also a subtle spicy cardamom and carnation touch that keeps it interesting without being overpowering.
I get solid performance from this Eau de Toilette. It lasts about 7 to 9 hours on my skin with a gentle but noticeable presence for the first few hours. It is not a loud projector but it leaves a nice intimate trail that people seem to enjoy. I have received several compliments when wearing it and a couple people even asked what I was wearing. It works great for fall and winter days at the office, casual outings, or relaxed evenings.Warm Woody Comfort. Rocabar by Hermès is My New Cozy Signature Scent!
