i love this oil and it’s natural ingredients! it absorbs and hydrates well without leaving my skin feeling greasy. the scent is unique but i personally love it! i have pretty dry acne prone skin and this helped calm my redness and acne while also hydrating.

Nowadays every retailer at all levels are trying to pump out products that capitalize on the palpable demand of quality skin care products despite the price point. Brands like ELF (whom I love btw, but luxury they are not) and Olay are marketing their new products that tout the impeccable benefits of Blue Tansey, argan and coconut oils. But few brands are actually able to provide you with products containing an ‘effective’ enough amount of these active ingredients because they are expensive and require much more lab work and testing. So even the products that contain these high quality ingredients cannot provide us with thee same efficacy as its far superior counterpart- Herbivore. Herbivores’ Lapis Oil is presented in a glass bottle with a dropper attached to the top that screw off. The bottle itself, looks and feels luxurious, with the heavy, dense glass and radiant blue contents reflect in the mirror and is an aesthetic touch to my vanity. The product itself lasts forever. The directions say to use 3-10 drops after cleansing and toning, but a little goes a long way and I find I need much less than that. I have an oiler complexion and I don’t have acne, but I do still get blemishes and can break out from time to time even at 37 years old, but hormones are a strange business. I was always hesitant to use an oil on my face because of it, which is a familiar tale among millennials it seems. I never thought the answer to oil would be oil, but once I tried this Herbivore Tapis I immediately began to understand- the oil I was producing was due to my skin being dry in most cases (except menstrual pimples) and once the Tapis Oil started to truly hydrate my skin and restore my moisture barrier, I very quickly stopped my overly-productive pores from producing extra oil and sebum. This product is fairly expensive but it last for a very long time and it is very effective. It is also available on sites like Ipsy for a lower cost if you are a member. I would highly recommend this to anyone that struggles with acne prone/oily skin. Also, this product is more for mature skin and not pre-pubescent or young adult skin. I would recommend 30+ to be honest! And don’t worry ladies, you’ll be 30 one day, don’t be in a rush!

Love all things herbivore. The packaging is always original. Þ What It Does: Forget what you’ve heard. Using a face oil, especially this one from HERBIVORE BOTANICALS, on your combo or oily skin is a total yes. The clarifying formula uses a blend of blue tansy, kukui oil, and jojoba oil to help balance oil production and soothe redness without drying you out. Þ How to Use It: Morning and night, massage three to five drops into clean skin.
