I have tried hand powered, and electric ice cream makers in the past, and this Hamilton Beach ice cream maker is by far the easiest one that I have used. It does a great job making ice cream and other frozen desserts and the cleanup is easy with it. As others have said as well, my only complaint is that the metal double walled bowl does have to be completely frozen before you use it, so that ends up taking up a fair bit of room in my freezer. 

Got this on sale (affordable) and it is really easy to use! We like to make unique, gourmet ice cream flavours, so this works great. Almost magical that it can make churned, ready-to-eat ice cream is about 20-30mins. Also great that it comes with some recipes to get you started. Just note that it requires some ahead of time prep, like putting the the mixing bowl in the freezer the night before.

I like this ice cream maker a lot. It’s very easy to use and makes a decent amount of ice cream! It even comes with a recipe book.
