Before i go to a chain store to buy home improvement stuff i alqays check my local habitat for humanity store. I have a lower income or average but not rich by any means. This store is based on donations from companies or left over materials from jobs donated. You would be surprised by what is in this store. Feom lumber to paint to furniture to lighting fixtures and much more. The prices are half or more less than chain stores. I painted my entire house with paint from here for $40. What???!!! There isnt a huge selection and no paint swatches but whatever they have is it. If you need a ton of a supply this isnt for you. You can return items but there is no warranties. Some used stuff and some new. Its def worth checking out to see if you can save some money or cheap for a quick house facelift. Great place to donate your left over materials also. They do a lot for your local community
I really like the mission of this group. It's amazing that they help people in need get into houses. With the high cost of living out here I applied. Though My boyfriend and I make less than what the limits are for some reason they calculated our income wrong and denied us initially. So we signed a lease on a bigger apartment that's cheaper overall. We were living in two separate ones in the same complex. But we will reapply soon.
I have not personally donated money to Habitat for Humanity Humanity, but I have donated my time. When I was in high school I was very active in our Habitat for Humanity club and we traveled to food banks, we passed out coats to those in need, and we traveled to schools and shelters to play with the kids and do crafts with them. I could tell we were really making a difference in the lives of these individuals. I understand not everyone has the time to donate and that is why they instead will donate money, however if you are going to donate money please do so locally instead of donating to Big National names.
Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working in local communities across all 50 states in the U.S. and in approximately 70 countries. I have done work for this organization and we built ramps for people who are stuck in wheel chairs, we have built houses for people who have lost everything. It truly makes you feel like you made a difference in the world. I love this organization.
I absolutely love all that Habitat For Humanity does for people and communities and for what they stand for. Bringing comfort and help to people when they are at their most vulnerable state is such an amazing thing to see, and can help bring such great change to the world, change that’s good, change that we need.
I haven't donated here before, but I have volunteered my time here to help & I really love this cause. I think their mission is in the right place, & in a good place & this is a really great charity. Honestly, I feel like sometimes your time can be a bigger donation than your money, so I really like all the volunteer opportunities that this group gives to people across the country.
I am a little on the fence about this organization. I absolutely love the fact that they build homes for people in need so this is strictly regarding the stores that I have been into. The store located by me is a complete mess and they sell their stuff way overpriced. They don’t treat people very nicely and a lot of the things that they have in store are very junky that is pretty much all I have to say that is negative otherwise I do love what they do and I think it’s great.
This charity is a very giving one. They not only build houses for people in need, and make sure they have shelter, but they also sell things at their stores. They get stuff donated from companies/ people, and resell them for people who need it at a lower price. I just don’t like that it can sometimes be pricey for a not so good quality product
This is one special organization that can be seen locally in all communities for families that have suffered a hardship and need a home. The homes are built by volunteers entirely! The funds are raised by local people bringing in their unwanted items around their home and those items are sold to the community and given back with building materials to build their house. Great organization. Habitat for Humanity
I worked with a friend who lived in a habitat home. I never knew what amazing things they did until she started telling me about it. Years later, I was able to help build houses for other people. Always an amazing experience!!! Love it. Go see for yourself.
