Guerlain Tonka Impériale Eau...

Glad I attended the event for Thierry Wesser and got my bottle of this now discontinued gem! Rich and warming Tonka. While the scent does sit a little close to the skin and doesn’t’ project a lot—the smell is magnificent and worth a sample if you can get your hands on it.
why or why is this discontinued! I never got my hands on a full bottle, will be actively looking for one. There is a little cherry vibe to my nose that I do not dislike in this scent. The best tonka centered fragrance there is on the market.
I’m currently rotating my perfume tray since spring is in the air. However, this one may hang out a bit longer since there is still a chill in the morning. This has a sweetness to it that intensifies as it gets warmer, yet it reminds me of being hugged in cashmere when it gets colder. This is a perfect fall scent that can easily transition to winter and very beginning of spring.
I usually enjoy tonka scents, so when I was buying Spiritueuse Double Vanille, the sales rep threw in a sample of this fragrance for me to try. I was quite excited since I do love a lot of Guerlain's fragrances, but this is a miss for me. The dominant note for me is syrupy raisins. It smells a lot like a scone! While I do enjoy gourmand fragrances, this is a big pass for me. It's still quite sophisticated and nuanced, but it's nothing I'd ever normally wear. I'm glad I didn't spend money on it.
Smooth, sweet, and luxurious. Tonka bean and vanilla combine perfectly in this gem. There are several winners in the L’Art et la Matiere collection, but this one is easily top 3 in my opinion. Think of Dior Feve Delicieuse but richer, thicker, and with much more depth. A hint of tobacco and incense in the drydown adds a bit of complexity and cuts the sweetness of the vanilla, and helps to keep this one perfectly unisex. I think this one is good for any time of year and would be perfect for any occasion. 10 out of 10. Masterpiece.
Good quality fragrance. Sweet slightly smoky tonka and vanilla, some green aspects from rosemary and fir. In the beginning it does remind me of Diors Feve. Guerlain no longer produces this perfume in this style bottle, so it is possible that the perfume was reformulated when they changed the bottle design. This is one of my favorites from the Guerlain Art et Materials line. The tonka is so rich, buttery, and smooth with hints of rosemary giving it a slight herbal edge. This has a slightly darker, masculine feel in the beginning but settles down into a sweet, creamy, golden dessert that I can't stop myself from breathing in and seeking comfort from.
Ive recently gotten into parfums, and this has to be one of the best parfums I have ever tried. It was not sent to me, I bought it on my own, and it was not a cheap parfum to buy. It is very long lasting and the amount of compliments I have received in 1 week from this parfum, has sent me back to the store to try and get a travel atomizer; which unfortunately there is none. The smell behind this parfum is AMAZING! It's a very buttery combo of tonka and almond and soft caramel. It's a dream; If I could bathe in it I would! Closest parfum I can recommend that is comparable is Feve-Delicieuse by Dior. Feve smells a touch powdery though; but is just as amazing as scent.
