Growing up in a Southern household, this was always in the regular meal rotation. It is a comfy go to for me when I want to be reminded of home. The cooking instructions are clear and the ham flavor packet adds a nice layer of flavor. I don't generally eat pork products but the flavor packet let's me have that memorable flavor without feeling guilty. I generally add about half to make sure it isn't too smokey or strong. The package gives nice suggestions of different additions to bulk up your soup.
