My family and I have built 2 Gorilla Play-sets now. The first was smaller and easier to build. The second took a couple months and told us it would be built in a certain amount of hours. I think the time line is generic and put in all instructional guides so if you buy a big one might expect to be building for a lot longer than estimated.
The thing that made me mad is they are not as good as they used to be, like our first one. It says to stain it right away, yet for the thousands of dollars I paid, it should come with a pretty good coat of stain or be cheaper if not. There are a lot of pieces of wood to this and that is going to be a tedious job. Also within a couple months there was a lot of mold on the wood, especially on the ceiling of the dual level treehouse.
The kids actually played more on our smaller set. I wish they still made that because it was a perfect design for us and a lot easier to build. The clatter bridge is a nice look with a good safety net. The slides can be fun. The swings are great. My children spend most of their time in the sand box of all places. There is a picnic table built in there and it is nice to place drinks and food on. The rock wall is a good way to get up if children don’t want to climb the wood ladder or rope ladder. The steering wheel and telescope make good accessories.
It is a nice piece of equipment to help keep your kiddos active, but this brand is expensive.
Bought this for our daughter as a surprise because she loves going to play at the park but it’s not always convenient to go there. The instructions were easy to understand and it took my husband and I about 12 hours total to put it together. He probably could’ve gotten it done quicker without my “help” lol. It’s super nice quality wood and the plastic parts seem like they’ll be durable. Plus it came with a toy gorilla friend!
