I use the GoPro Blackout Housing while filming YouTube videos, especially outdoors and in rough conditions. The housing provides solid protection and gives peace of mind when recording around water, dirt, or impacts. The lens cover stays clear and doesn’t affect video quality, which is important for filming. Buttons are still easy to press, even with gloves, and the housing feels durable over time. I also like the clean, all-black look — it keeps the setup discreet and professional. Overall, it’s a reliable accessory that protects the camera without getting in the way of filming.

This housing is great. It's just as waterproof as the standard housing, and looks a little more businesslike for professional shoots. The latch design is simplified a bit, but seems to be holding up just fine to use. Another plus is that the buttons are significantly easier to press. I can hand this over to my two-year-old, and he'll happily be able to snap away, grabbing stills or toddler-point-of-view video. As other reviewers have noted, none of your existing GoPro Backdoors will fit on this housing. I can understand, given their low-profile, high-speed-low-drag marketing of the Blackout model, but given the nice features of its redesign, I'd love to be able to use my GoPro touchscreen with it. All in all it’s very sleek in design and portability.
