I read these books as they came out as a kid. I reread them as an adult, and they still hold up. Book Seven wraps up the series beautifully, with plenty of love and loss. Harry and co. head out to find horcruxes using the few clues Dumbledore has left behind. After many trials and tribulations, everything culminates in the battle for Hogwarts. What choices will The Chosen One make? The pace is fast (minus the camping) and the world is intriguing. If you are coming to this series for the first time, especially if you are introducing this series to a young person, I recommend reading up on JK Rowling’s transphobia and issues with the series in terms of stereotypes, lack of diversity, and the handling of minority groups with the wizarding world and consider how these beliefs are conveyed in the book.
