F by Ferragamo Black by Salvatore Ferragamo is a fragrance for men. F by Ferragamo Black was launched in 2009. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Polge. Top notes are Lavender and Apple; middle notes are Black Pepper and Coriander; base notes are Tonka Bean and Labdanum, according to Fragrantica. The opening feels a bit bland - not making a statement or claiming a position. Do not judge this fragrance by the first 15min. If you had to decide to buy or not buy this perfume according to its 15 first minutes, you won't buy it. I might have an older bottle, but I own plenty of fragrances that are more robust upon application. I like it when lavender is used in combination with fruity notes - it gives a different accent to the scent and leave a bit behind the barbershop idea mostly associated with lavender. The same upbeat note in the opening comes up every now and then in the middle notes, making the sweetness a tad more interesting than expected. I don’t get the whole “to strong/peppery/beast mode thing). I get a nice combo of lavender and green apple for top notes. It's also worth to highlight the absence of any citrusy tartiness, a departure from mainstream designer contemporary perfumery. Ok, F Black may not be that contemporary now... The lavender here is well done...not to strong so it does not go fougere on me. Dry down brings a nice tonka powdery creaminess to the forefront. I do not get pepper from this. F Black smells classically masculine and authoritative, and surprisingly fresh for something often considered a winter fragrance. The beauty of this fragrance is the dry-down. Do not over spray this fragrance! Like I mentioned earlier it is a strong performer. Not only does it last long 10+h, but it can project heavy as well for the first 2h. #ferragamo #perfume #fragrance #parfum #scent #cologne #duft #fragranze #dapper #sotd #fragrancelover #scentoftheday #perfumelover #fragrancecollection #influenster #influencer
