I’m very picky about tubing mascaras—or really mascaras in general—and Half Magic Eyelectric Extreme Lengthening Mascara honestly won me over right away. I love the shade Teal Widdit, and it reminds me of those bold Crayola markers in the best way—super vibrant, but still somehow wearable. On my lashes, it actually shows up as a true teal blue/green instead of just looking like a slightly “off” black and this is rare. Performance-wise, it gives exactly what I want from a tubing mascara. It gives really noticeable length and separation without feeling heavy or crunchy. It’s not a volumizing formula, but I knew that going in, and for me the length payoff makes up for it. The wand is a key part of the magic—it’s skinny and tapered—and that lets you really coat the bottom lashes where the teal shade actually looks coolest. You can also apply your favorite black mascara (like Half Magic shade Urchin) and just put the teal shade on the corners or the tips of the lashes for a flash of color every time you blink. Where it really stands out to me is wear. I live in Texas, where there is often tremendous heat, and I also wear glasses that I constantly have to adjust because sweat makes them slide down and yet this tubing mascara still holds its ground without smudging or transfer. Removal is also that classic tubing mascara experience—warm water + gentle pressure and the little “tubes” slide right off. No mess, no leftover pigment, no scrubbing (my face or the sink). For me this rates a full 5/5. If you want bold color that actually performs and doesn’t turn into a smudgy mess halfway through the day, this one delivers. Several other shades are available as well. This mascara seriously lengthens without clumping. My lashes look so much longer and lifted I love how easy it is to use and how bold the results are. The formula glides on smoothly.

As someone who lives in a warm climate and has straight, thick lashes that can’t hold a curl without a waterproof mascara, I’ve come to love tubing formulations. They’re no-budge until you wash them, but easier to get off than waterproof and they help me hold a curl the same. As with most mascaras, they’re better and easier to work with after a few uses so the product can thicken up from the air in the container. This teal color is very fun and stunning on the eye.
