Review for: 2C3 Fresco - Cool/Rosy Undertone more...
There are higher end liquid foundations out there that claim to be the best but I’ve been using this foundation for full coverage for years. There is always a bottle in my treasure trove for those times that I don’t want to worry about frequent touch ups, rub offs or unconcealed imperfections. It is alittle heavy, especially after setting with powder but the payoff is perfect for photography, video and long nights. One of the best attributes is that I never have to use a separate concealer when wearing it. I’m fair with pink undertones and Fresco is a perfect match. This foundation sets the perfect canvas for whatever creative artistry you have your heart set on. As for being a foundation for “older” people, not true. Anyone can use it with great results. Oh, I do have combination skin normal/oily in my T-zone. Not a problem with this product.

This is my absolute favorite foundation! It comes in so many shades and is the perfect build-able coverage. I currently wear 1N1 ivory nude but in the summer I wear darker shades. I have acne and dark marks and this foundation covers it better than anything I have ever tried. It stays on all day and with a good setting spray it doesn't move! I apply it with an e.l.f. stipple brush. I used to use a beauty blender but this works so much better for me. Using my finger I dab on spots of foundation then blend it in with the brush. For full coverage I dab on a second layer and pat it in with the brush. It costs just under $40 but it is so worth it! The bottle lasts me about 5-6 months and I wear it everyday. I have bought it from Sephora and Belk. If you're trying it for the first time it is best to buy it from an Estée Lauder counter at a department store like Belk. They will color match you and give you a 10-day sample to try. They are great about color exchanges even if you have used the product once or twice.

I’m going to start with my complaints: The price, sensitivity, and color range. The price is insane for foundation that isn’t much better than drugstore. I have sensitive skin and I’m about 90% sure this foundation caused me to break out on my checks for the first time ever BUT it was not a horrible amount just annoying. The color range for fair skin is iffy. It could just be because you have to get matched when your in person and my consultant wasn’t the best. I got a sample and loved it went back to buy the full thing and it didn’t seem the same. My shade is way too light I would love to exchange it but I waited too long. Now the Pros: the finish is perhaps the best, I wear revlon color stay and the issues I had with that coverage is totally fixed in this. It’s smooth and buildable. I would continue to wear for special occasions it if I had the right color. As you can see in the photo I was not matched right.

I have severely oily skin and for years I was just not interested in this foundation. I thought it would be cakey on my skin and look heavy from all my oil. After asking several women who I thought had the most beautiful skin they all had one thing in common... this foundation. So of course I reluctantly went and got a sample. I fell in love! It sits beautifully on the skin, does not move around, hardly transfers at all and makes my skin look beautiful. You can get medium coverage with a light hand and build up to complete full coverage. I now have 2 shades and will never be without this. Every time I try a different foundation I miss this one. If you’ve never tried it or been on the fence please give it a try. It is my absolute favorite foundation ever. And believe me I have tried many many. Love love love this stuff!!! I also have acne prone skin and this has never caused any breakouts.

I looooove this foundation! I have combination skin and my t-zone can get pretty oily throughout the day. It would cause my makeup to move and just look gross even if I primed and set everything. I have not had that problem with this foundation at all! It stays on all day and keeps my skin looking matte even if I'm outside in the heat.

The only "issue" I have ran into is when my skin is on the drier side this tends to make it more obvious. I make sure to moisturize extra well on those days though and it seems to have taken care of the issue. The foundation does dry quickly as well, so I recommend blending it to your liking as soon as possible after putting it on your skin.

Overall, this foundation is my holy grail and I would definitely check it out if you haven't already!

I recommend that you go to your local Macy's or Nordstrom to get a sample of this foundation first, because once you do, this will quickly become your favorite foundation. I love that one of the brand's values is to provide a 10-day sample to anyone who asks because they greatly believe in the power of their product (now I sound like I'm trying to sell it to you, hahaha). This is one of the only liquid foundations that I have found to live up to its claims, where it truly does stay in place. I have exceptionally dry skin, and I find that if I prime with a moisturizing primer, such as  First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer , the make up stays on the face the entire day and doesn't dry me out like other foundations do. Because of my dry skin, I find that I don't need to set the foundation at all! It doesn't dry completely down to where it feels like natural skin, but it does dry to where it doesn't rub off of the face or leave a residue on your fingers. It dries semi-matte, so it looks like natural skin! It IS water-based and oil-free, so it won't do well with oil-based or silicone-based primers or cosmetic products, so keep that in mind.

When I first started looking for a more high end foundation, Double Wear was suggested to me by one of the girls at Sephora. She found a “match,” so I happily took it home.

Biggest mistake ever.

I’m pretty pale with very cool undertones, and after a few days, I noticed that I just looked very orange. The color was off, so I went back and got another. That one was also too orange, and they couldn’t find a match.

Aside from it being to orange, I just felt like this product was way too thick. I don’t wear a lot of foundation, but my face always felt like I had a huge glob of foundation sitting on top of it. It would then become very dry and flake off after just a few hours.

I would not recommend this product, nor would I buy it again.

Other than the Too Faced Born This Way foundation, this one is my other favorite. I have dry and textured skin so finding foundations that don't emphasize my texture are keepers. The coverage is high medium and buildable to full. I like to apply it with a beauty sponge but it works great with a brush too. I just personally prefer medium coverage so using the beauty blender tones it down for me. It is easy to apply and does not transfer. I have also worn it in the heat and it does not feel like my face is going to melt off. The only drawback, as most people are saying, is that you have to pay extra for the pump. I might be a cheapskate but I did not buy the pump, the price of the foundation is high enough so I think they could have at least provided that with your purchase. Other than that I really do love this foundation. (I am wearing the foundation in the photo but I cannot take credit for the eye look. That was done by my cousin who is a makeup artist.)

Review for: 7N1 Deep Amber - Neutral Undertone more...
heard so many rave reviews of this foundation that I decided I had to try it myself, but I found pretty quickly that there were two areas where it fell short.

First, I have combination skin where my T-zone is VERY oily but the outer rim of my face can get very dry. This foundation sits very nicely on the drier outer parts, but on my forehead and nose, I've found that this foundation breaks up very quickly, no matter what primer or setting products I use. It does have a nice natural finish that doesn't give a "I'm wearing sooo much makeup" look, but if you have any texture or more-than-normal oil, that might work against you.

Secondly, the undertones across the line don't work perfectly on very yellow skin. I have light but very yellow-undertoned skin. Too Faced is supposed to be very good at undertone inclusivity, and I have had many friends with yellow or golden tones find their holy grails in Too Faced, but I find that even the foundations with "golden" listed as an undertone have been slightly too pink on me. This is a point that I am maybe a little pickier than most on, but if you have "Asian" or yellowy skin, you might want to be careful.

The double wear formula is AMAZING for people looking for that full coverage look! I could be having the worst break out, or redness / irritation on my skin, and as long as I have my DW I can still feel confident going out and looking good. It's non-transferable property is the main reason I keep going back to this! Besides its wide range of shades! The fact like I can apply the foundation to my skin and hug people without worrying about it transferring to others' cheeks, clothes, etc makes me feel 100% comfortable and care free. Try a sample as soon as possible, you will never go back! And for those of you who do NOT like the full coverage they also have a Double Wear water fresh ("nude") formula that is amazing too!
