I purchased this @elfcosmetics color correcting concealer hoping that it'd solve my dark circle problems. I'm a gal with pretty severe dark circles so I'm constantly searching for new remedies. I mostly use the third quadrant since it's the closest to my skin tone, but I don't find use for much of the other colors. I have tried using the green as a color corrector, but don't really see a stark difference in color correction so as the lazy person I am I don't think it's worth the extra blending. The quality of the concealer and the texture are definitely great, but I personally don't think this is useful for me. If this works for you, that's amazing because this is only $3. The packaging is definitely sturdy and feels high quality as elf doesn't disappoint.
I recently purchased this for $4 at Target. Usually I use Makeup Forever's color correction palette. When I had seen this for $4 I had to try. It's extremely creamy. Not as thick as Makeup Forever's. It really pigmented too. A little goes a long way. I used to buy single colors. Like green. I found buying a palette with all correction colors really helps. I use green in my redder areas and pink under my eyes, etc. for $4, I highly recommend buying e.l.f's. It works just fine.
I use this to help even out red splotches and dark circles under my eyes. I’ve used both the little brush that comes in the kit and my finger, and both apply evenly. For the red marks - veins and sometimes breakouts - the green evens them out and lets my foundation cover them up. For the dark circles under my eyes, I usually use the two lighter browns in combination to blur them out. In all, the colors blend out what I don’t to show.
I really like this product it hides my dark n red spots without feeling heavy or overdone. Bc its a cream consistency it blends really well too and it lasts long. Bc its creamy it feels oily at first but once dry n set it feels light n the coverage is perfect for my skin i hate heavy overdone makeup!!! It leaves my skin feeling light n fresh n like i barely have anything on. I esp love that its small n has a mirror so u can carry for those pesky last min pop ups before a date lol
I actually bought this at target in the clearance section on a whim, I’ve never tried a color correction kit before. I haven’t used any of the other colors besides green. I have a spot on my check of scars/acne that just is always red looking and even with concealer alone, I can never fully get it to go away. I first use a B.B. cream, then I go in with the green and blend it over the red area and then go in with a concealer and I have got to say, I’m impressed! The green really does neutralize the redness! I’m so happy I decided to buy this!! I use it every time I do my makeup now! If you’re looking for a cost effective product that works well, I definitely recommend this product:
I don't use a lot of color corrective concealers, but I do keep this one on hand since it has all of the shades. It can take care of red tones, purplish blue tones or to brighten up the skin. it definitely is handy to have that something this small and Compact so you don't have 4 different pens or bottles so I really like it. I do notice that I do use the peachy tone more under my eyes just because I don't get a lot of sleep and I tend to get puffy and kind of dark circles and it really does make a difference. I haven't noticed it interacting with my primers or my concealers that I would use on a normal daily basis it doesn't make creases or a cause a thickness so they blend out really well and II like I'm I will continue to buy this
For $4, it's hard to complain about this product! The colors are very pigmented and a little goes a long way. I'm trying to cover a massive black eye that has a bunch of different shades to conceal, which is why I picked this pallet. It is a bit greasy, but I think once covered with foundation and a finishing powder it will be fine!
It’s okay. Nothing too great about the product honestly. You can tell it’s a cheap brand product easily. Not very creamy. Hard to apply. It reminds me of that big bulk makeup box you used to get for Christmas when you were a young pre-teen that had a bunch of cheap no name makeup that you played with your cousins with.
This product can be used for concealer, fixing any discoloration in the skin, if you're good at it, you could even hide blemishes. This product is super creamy and has a thickness to it which I loved. For $4 you honestly can't beat this product. It does what is expected in mu opinion. It worked great for me.
As far as concealing and color-correcting go, this palette did a pretty good job, but I didn't have any luck with blending it out so that it didn't end up making my foundation look cakey over top. I tried it with several different brands & formulas, but got the same bad results with them all. If you maybe wear a lighter face of makeup than I, it might work better for you I suppose, but for me, it just didn't work well. Obviously the price point is great, but it still wasn't worth it for me.
Q & A
I recently bought this in the powder form and I'm not sure if I like it very much. Then again I'm not 100% sure if I am applying it like it should be applied. The directions say to apply all colors all over face and I feel like that is not right. What do each colors stand for? And would you recommend me purchasing a different brand?
What are the different colors for?
How does this actually work for acne prone skin????
Dose this work just as good as any other color correctors ?
