My new discovery. I bought these tablets completely by accident a week ago and I must admit , I was pleasantly surprised. They do a good job of removing stains from dishes . After a cycle , dishes and glasses are shiny, and the dishwasher is protected from deposits. The tablets are biodegradable and safe for the environment.

I love ecover’s dishwasher detergent and have been a loyal user of it for at least 15 years. I have tried plenty of other brands (every industry-leading brand or environmentally friendly brand you’ve heard of) but none of them work as well as ecover. I have lived in at least 7 cities across the country, and ecover dishwasher detergent seems to work perfectly in all of them (meaning it is effective in a variety of water conditions), cleaning off food and not leaving any residue. I never have to prewash any of my dishes (unless they have a lot of avocado because that dries like glue if you don’t wash it right away) and they always come out clean. Some of my family members use a certain F-named product based on the recommendations of their dishwasher manufacturers, and they have to pre-rinse most of their dishes by hand (wasting tons of water and time) and way too many of their dishes still don’t come out clean… in the past, I have literally purchased ecover for family members’ homes because I’m so tired of having to scrutinize what comes out of their dishwashers for cleanliness. Ecover does make a very good rinse aid, but you also don’t really need it when you’re using the ecover detergent because there is just no residue on the dishes — my Japanese soda lime glasses sparkle at the end of the cycle in the prettiest way. I also find that I need to empty the food trap in my dishwasher much less frequently than my family members who use different detergents, and the inside of my dishwasher always looks very clean (does not accumulate any smells or build up). My preference is for the loose box product (just to not have to deal with recycling the wrappers, though I love that this is one of the only PVA-free pod products on the market), and I find that about a tablet’s worth of loose powder works best. This review is not incentivized, I just really love this product and am lamenting that it has suddenly been unavailable since People Against Dirty (ecover and method’s parent company) was purchased by Johnson and I am starting to run low on ecover dishwasher detergent. Please keep this on the market, it is the best!

The marketing for this brand needs to be upgraded and the price needs to be reduced. A little bit. The packaging looks decent, and eco-friendly product.
